I did not request for him to be sold, but for VDV to start ahead of him. Far more strings to VDV bow, surely everyone can see that right....?
I don't think anyone's disagreeing that vdV has a better all round game, just that a lot of the criticism levelled at Defoe is unwarranted and too harsh, especially this season considering he's our top scorer and is playing better than ever.
Let's just enjoy having so many players playing so well for once.
be glad we dont have Heskey, that miss at the end of MoTD had me in stitches
Bollox... Just Bollox.
It's well documented how good his finishing is, it's not like he messed up any of the shots yesterday, none were glaring misses and he scored. He was also heavily involved in a lot of the build up play, his pass for Lennons goal was sublime.
Pick your battles, yesterday proved he's to good to sit on the bench and I wouldn't begrudge him leaving in January for more starts.

Game of opinions, so to call mine bollox is a bit strong.
If you think he is an elite striker then that's your call, for me he isnt and never has been. I'm not saying I dont like him, I just wish he had the ability to dink a ball over a keeper or place a shot in the corner rather than put his foot through it. If he had that in his locker, he would have had 3 yesterday, and probably many many more over his career. Still like the guy and he has something to offer us for sure, just not a starter for me.

And if Ade could put his foot through the ball like JD can how many coulkd he have had yesterday?
They are what they are, they're not Messi or Ronaldo, they're different players with different techniques. Defoes ability to put his foot through it probably won us the game at Albion last week, so.

I'm sorry but are you now saying that we should drop Adebayor for Defoe?
Do you mean, a high percentage of his goals are absolute stunners? Or, that he's a highly clinical finisher?
If the first, no argument. If the second, it's very well documented that he isn't.
Would you pick him ahead of Van der Vaart?
Could you accommodate him and Van der Vaart in the same starting line-up with Adebayor?
