Well my wife has just said "if we have kids maybe we choose another team for them to support..." And I didn't tell her to fuck off so something must have changed...

It's a shit season, but compared to the shit that clubs like Birmingham and Leeds are going through having criminals in charge, or other clubs who are broke, it ain't that bad. Dust ourselves down, and go again next year.

The answer to the original question is that unfortunately I do.

I go round saying ok that's it for the season I don't care, but I do. I still go or watch the games whenever I can.

Result is always the same - torture, and more misery.

I remember the days when we were cr*p but at least entertaining, the days when you never knew how the team would play but at least try, the days when players actually attacked rather than the concept of merely trying keep the ball but with no idea what to do with it (not that we even do this very well now!!)

And I care, because I've supported for 40+ years and you don't just turn your back on things.

Without Spurs there would be something missing in my life.

and i care enough to hope that the future is brighter than where we are today

Reaching that saturation point with Spurs

Haven't enjoyed going to a game in about 3 years now. Have no feeling towards any of our players, maybe apart from Sandro. And generally feel disenchanted with football itself, hate the incessant manipulation of fans and the exploitation of our loyalty.

And despite Levy freezing the ST prices, I'll still have to part with almost £1500 in a few months, all to watch another expensive car-crash next season. Great

It's so depressing but I was stood there at the game today and after about 50 mins or so I could just feel myself giving less of a shit about the team and the results than ever before.

I'm at the point where after this Sundays NLD I am gonna take a break from going to whl and see if any part of me misses it.

I have been going to support the team when times were a lot worse but this just feels different

I don't get to many games, so when I have the opportunity I still feel the passion and enthusiasm for the club - taking in all the history of the stadium. Even after 24 years of supporting Spurs, I still get a buzz when I'm walking into the ground.

But that's got more to do with the past than the present, and I can't see the future (of football in general) getting better. I think the next time I get an opportunity I'm going to try to get to one of the 1882 events at a youth game, to re-awaken that feeling that my love of the club doesn't begin and end with the first team.

Because right now I don't feel much of a connection left at all.

This entire season I've been looking forward to our games, be it away at Anzhi, Villa in the cup, EPL games, whatever. After getting home from work and watching the replay of today, this is now the first point in the season where I just don't care anymore. I don't even care that Sunday is the NLD.

kind of sums it up for me. i care, but just want to fast forward to the summer. I assume i'll feel differently in the morning, but right now it sucks to feel this way.

I've probably been to less games this season (a whole 2 - and the first one of those was fucking West Ham at home!) than any time in the last ten years. Most seasons I try and get to as many games as I can get tickets for and am free - usually manage 7/8 league games and another 4/5 cup games depending on how far we get and who we're playing. I go with some mates, my parents, my girlfriend and have been to several games on my own.

I've barely even bothered looking for tickets this season, and obviously won't be bothering for the rest of it.

Takes me about 2hrs to get to Spurs door to door, which obviously means on a weeknight game getting home at about midnight having left straight from work. Costs a packet to see any league game as well. Not the worst journey etc but definitely doesn't feel worth it. Not been able to get my mates to turn up this season either, though they're not fair-weather fans at all.

Not missing it unfortunately.

Otherwise, Spurger King, Stoof and BBLG have summed up perfectly everything I feel about football these days. I don't even seem to hate Arsenal as much as I did.

Then how do you explain the amazing suppotr we had when we genuinely were rubbish?
How do you explain how ever many of us there were being brilliant to the very end away at the Bernebeau.
Away fans on foreign jollies are a different breed. The result has never mattered, it's the camaraderie.

Sorry doesn't wash. There has to be some other reason why the atmosphere was better when we were watching Sinton than it is watching Eriksen.
Erm, it's called raised expectations. Plenty of other clubs other than us suffer from it. It's also the fact that we are paying more than ever before to go to a match, for some people it may be all their disposable income that week or month, so the disappointment is amplified.

I don't think these bunch of players are anymore disconnected from the fans than any other set over the years, we've just seen a hell of a lot of change this year, and change can always have that effect.

Hand on heart and with all the honesty I have...

No. I don't care as much as I did, and every season I care a little, or a lot, less

It's just the same shit. Great, we're financially sound. But we're so far behind challenging for anything it's a joke. I was excited in the summer at all our signings. I was gutted at losing Bale. But I had faith in AVB and Levy, and since the handsome one is no longer, I'm left questioning my belief in the bald one.

What's going on with the stadium? How many managers are we going to have next season? Great, another summer of transition! Why don't the players care? Why is the Lane so quiet? Who ate my sandwich?!?

Supporting Spurs is becoming a chore that nobody asked me to do. It's getting to the point where I'd rather go out with the Mrs than watch Spurs on tv. I'm falling in love with American Football and Basketball and out of love with our nations past time. I've only been to the Lane twice this season and even that's feeling like two times too many. I won't be renewing my membership for the first time in 5 years. It's only £50 but I'd rather spend it on something I want, rather than something I feel I have to have just because. Maybe I'm getting old. But I'm not that old. I should still be excited by my team but my team is no longer exciting. The football we played in 'Arry's last season, with Bale and Modric and Rafa and Ledley seems like a lifetime ago.

I don't even recognise the team I've supported for 20 years. I'm going to stop looking for it soon.

Totally agree - In the past we have been a lot worse (in fact a lot, lot worse), but think we actually saw that the team tried despite a number of players not being quality.

Now we appear to have a very decent squad, but they don't perform on the field.

There is undoubtedly something missing - you could say passion, drive, togetherness, cohesiveness. Whatever we are not a unit, not as one.

Leeds are enjoying the success and the manager that Leeds fans deserve.

When you love something the thing that you want most is for it to love you back.

Instead we got Tim Sherwood.

That is the valntines day gift equivalent of finding a shit in your pillowcase.

A few months ago i'd have a sore back and no finger nails after watching a spurs game.

The last few weeks my back has been fine, and my finger nails are the best i think they've ever been.

I couldn't care less about this season.

Before it was an edge of seat nail-biting experience as anything could happen.

Now you know EXACTLY what is going to happen before we even kick off.

Yeah - I got in late last night and put the tv on right after we'd gone 2-0 down. I just sort of laughed at my complete lack of surprise.

I've been trying to identify exactly what's changed for me and I think it's that, with the AVB sacking and what subsequently happened, I realised that we're doomed to repeat this same masochistic shoot-ourselves-in-the-foot behaviour into infinity, forever looking for that magic man and squad who can take back into the CL with a net spend of 3p as we sell his top players. It's a sad, impossible pipe dream.

And that's just depressing. If I was in a relationship with somebody who was so predictably dis-spiriting and so incapable of change, i'd kick him to the curb. So yeah, sod you Spurs, you don't deserve my emotional investment and passion. You're the very worst kind of bad boyfriend.
