Modric's, Lennon's and Bale's videos look even better

Just not my fav type of player, prefer players who know where players are before even they do i.e. Modric.

Some interesting comments on Giovani from a few Barca fans here:

http://www.totalbarca.com/2011/news/quote-of-the-day-giovanni-dos-santos/?replytocom=208579

Seems like some wouldn't be against him going back there.

Obviously not the same fans that boo'd him when I watched him start a game at the Nou Camp and get hauled off on 50 minutes cos he was playing like a C.

I could care a less about the world cup, it's about the spectacle, the level of of football has been average for years.

I could care a less about games against New Zealand. Name 2 New Zealands players?

I care about him not being able to start regularly for Spurs, Ipswich and Galatasary, a small stint at Racing aside, I reckon you could count on 2 hands how many good games he has had in 4 years.

WASTE OF MONEY AND TIME.

for the record I'm not saying GDS is any good because I can name 2 NZ players, their names just popped out of my memory.

was it sergio canales?

I agree he got rave reviews in Spain, however not many people know who he is and some only know because he plays for madrid or he signed for madrid before the end of the season

It's because during that season Eto'o, Deco and Ronaldinho were getting booed alot, do you think they are shit? I mean it got so bad for Ronaldinho he was booed we arrived the airport, Barca fans always boo or wave their handkerchiefs when they aren't winning and also he was only 18 at the time

They've got the trophies, accolades and long strings of good form to back them up. He's done nothing.

The fact that Dos Santos has a reputation similar to what Ronaldinho acquired during this very year speaks volumes, the difference is GDS cannot hold a candle to his ability.

In that very game, Etoo, Messi or Ronaldinho were out. Like GDS, Messi was also only about 18 and coming back from an injury. The crowd sang his name before he was even on the pitch, much like we do when we're trying to get Crouch subbed, because the man in his position, had seen more of the ball than anyone, and wasted it at every opportunity. Guess who it was....

I'm not disagreeing with you but what I am saying is, you cant judge a player on one bad game especially when they are 18, Zidane was 22 before he started lighting up the ligue 1

Gio is starting up top for Mexico against the U.S. in the Gold cup final.

It will be interesting to see how he performs against reasonably strong defenders. He's next to Chicharito, so I imagine we'll see gio dropping in behind, linking.

I'll provide some updates

Mexico dominates the first 7 minutes then the US scores on their first corner.

despite being 1 down, mexico look far the better side. Chicharito could have had 3 by now. and dos santos looks bright.

edit: he looks bright but his decision making /passing on two occasions has been delayed and poor, both from good positions.
