The case for and against has been made.

However, it is a fact that, in three seasons at Spurs, Gio has not once been given a run in the team, and has rarely even been on the bench.

So, the best outcome for the player and for Spurs is to sell him and let him make a fresh start at another club.

Where have you seen anyone obviously hate Gio? Most just don't rate him. That's all.

Exactly this. But it appears lost on some people. If you don't rate your a 'hater'. It's a bit different to personally abusing a player.

The very much loved spurs_viola once went on a rant (difficult to distinguish which occasion) about how Giovani needed to move to a team where he had support from the manager so he 'could get back to his best'. I then asked him when he was supposedly at his best as he had been largely disappointing at every club he had been at. He couldn't answer.

spot on yanno. I just wish people would think about why he hasnt been given a run. Some seem to think that Ramos and Harry simply had a problem with him (as did Pep and the Galatasaray manager as well).

I am told he played pretty well for his school team a few times as well as in a youth tournament..........

he was on loan wally so how could we have put him on the bench? a poor point clearly aimed at making a dig at harry. If we had put 2 keepers on the bench when Gio was here and available then fair enough, but dont spout crap to suit your agenda.

As said - if GDS is so good then why hasnt he made it anywhere at the top level?

I was thinking of, for example, Charlton at home. I had a memory of us having two keepers on the bench but looked it up, there was only one. However we only had six subs. Gio was not on loan. Is he really so bad that it's better be a player short than putting him on the bench?

And please, don't accuse me of having an agenda.

But Ramos played him, didn't he? Or am I remembering wrong? I thought Ramos brought Gio to the club, and his lack of playing started when Juande left? (I might be wrong here)

And where were we in the league when GDS was playing under Ramos? 2 points from 8 games is it?

Kendall - fixed your quote:

Can the Gio haters please explain why we couldn't have put him on the bench to ease him into EPL football ahead of the woeful loanee Frazier Campbell?

He's played for 4 different clubs in 3 years and hardly done anything.

That's what I would like to know. It tells me that if Harry rather have an empty space than Gio on the bench, there must be something other than his playing abilities keeping him out of the team.

My theory is that Harry can't/won't forget Gio's earlier problems and still thinks he is a drunk. My impression of Redknapp is that he, for better or worse, sticks to his ideas no matter what. But that's just a theory.
Weird thing is, Gio featured on the bench a few games before.

He gave Gio a chance to join back up with the squad, to prove hed turned a corner after some decent WC performances. He started him in one game I think, brought him on in another couple where he did nothing and then realised, like Ramos seemingly did before him, that he isn't actually any good.

It must have been Gio's fault then! Thank god Redknapp came along and saved us from the little mexican ruining our season. :)

Sorry, couldn't help myself.

I was wrong. Giovani actually started two league games of Ramos 8 in charge, and was otherwise a sub. He started against Middlesboro and Chelsea in the league.

Anyway, I'm not actually anti Gio and I reckon that he should have had a chance at some point, but he didn't and it's clear he won't so I just hope we get a decent fee for him.

Yup, Kendall, you and Spurs Bear and the rest must be right. The player here isn't actually any good.

In fact, Sandra could have scored the goal at c3:38.

Perhaps we should loan him to the Conference division north to let him know what real football is all about....

Bale was frozen out by Redknapp until Benny got injured and he got a run in the team.

Kranjcar has been frozen out by Redknapp all season - despite 'Arry making promises in January to play him in the second half of the season.

Redknapp doesn't seem to understand the concept of rotating a squad, to keep talented players interested and keen.

For whatever reason, 'Arry clearly doesn't rate Gio.

So, GDS should go to another club where he can actually play some football.

Because he isn't very good. Jesus how difficult is it.

Bale was not frozen out. Bloody hell, do you watch a lot of soap operas?
