He can tell people whatever he wants no doubt. If something he has said is proven to be false he immediately fall foul of more than one law, more than is likely. Probably even criminal law if someone was feeling put out enough about it.

Who knows, you'd think the medical chekcs that clubs undertake with players, were his age actually 29 and not 27, it would have come out before now. Unless the entire Colombian medical profession is in on the deception from the day he was born.

If they are, and it was done that early on, then fair fucks to them frankly. Well played. Amazing foresight.

We can tell people whatever age we want. We can tell people we are called whatever we want. If you can't accept that then that is your prerogative.

But at the same time, are any of his clubs going to specifically ask "What is your name? How old are you?"

No they are not. They will simply do the relevant checks, like checking his Passport.

Again, how this is escaping you is beyond me but you can hide behind your wall of stubbornness if you like...

...because that is your prerogative!

Yes we can say what we want and we can do what we want but there are little things called laws that make most of us stop and the ones that don't get punished.

Hahaha I'm being stubborn? Jesus, you should take a look in the mirror pal.

We're talking multi million pound fraud in 3rd world countries. How hard would it be to buy a fake or even a genuine passport with fake details?

Oh yeah, right. Falcao and stuff. This must be an oversight, Shirely. His medical records would be the thing to really check no? And any club signing a player will make sure there's not a full stop out of place anywhere on a player's medical records.

Well yeah, I guess most threads will run their course and die a natural death, but your efforts in keeping this one alive are indeed noble.

We look forward to you giving CPR to all of the thousands of other threads that would otherwise be left neglected, left to wither and die, forgotten and uncared for like an old parraffin found dead in a shop doorway ;)

So when did he get this fake passport?

Let me guess, the Colombian media have been in on it since birth too.

Perhaps he was formed in a lab in a Government operation, a super baby designed to achieve football stardom

I will re-visit this once somebody posts Falcao's twitter status' which apparently clears this all up.

You have mistakenly taken the attitude that everyone speaking against you in this thread thinks that Falcao is guilty of lying about his age. That is not the case at all, certainly not from my own point of view anyway. I have taken affront at your attitude (which stinks) and for some of the points that Sum monsterism pointed out in his post. You state your opinion as if it's fact with nothing whatsoever to back it up. We are simply to take your word as the truth which quite frankly isn't going to happen on an internet forum. People have then gone on to argue that it is easier than you think to fake an age and probably a lot more widespread than you think (certainly than you personally think obviously).

You have demonstrated that you actually have no idea how an international transfer is undertaken and your argument has shrunk to the point where you're simply clutching to the hope that Falcao is the age he says he is where you will no doubt shout up with a "I told you so" As I've already mentioned, nobody here is actually arguing that he's guilty anyway.

Regarding your comment about his twitter feed.....why don't you post it up?

By the way, I'm sure that all of the murderers, rapists, thieves, armed robbers, fraudsters etc etc in our prisons are wishing they'd known that writing "I'm not guilty" on their Twitter feed would prove they were innocent. They could have been wandering about happily raping and murdering for the last 10 years. How stupid they must feel.

Allegedly Real Madrid wanted to conduct a medical examination of the bones of young Brazilian defender Breno to confim his age. Breno refused, went to Bayern, didn't make it and is now in prison for the arson of his million dollar villa. Fwiw.

I assume the "bone test" would examine the degree of development of certain parts of the skeleton, and might be invasive too.

There are lots of players whose ages I'm suspicious of.

Roger Milla scored four goals in the 1990 World Cup Finals at the age of 38.

I always reckoned he was a few years older....

Which simply makes him an even more of a legend. ;)

Here are reports of non-invasive testing from 2009:

---------------------------------

Fifa are to use wrist scans to determine the age of players at this year's Under-17 World Cup in Nigeria.
Some youth tournaments have attracted controversy in the past because of teams fielding over-age players.
One of the major problems is that birth certificates are often either inaccurate or unavailable.
But organisers will employ magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) to scan the left wrist plate of players in order to accurately ascertain their true age.
Professor Jiri Dvorak, head of Fifa's medical assessment and research centre, said: "MRI of the wrist is a simple, reliable, valid and non-invasive method of age determination in young male football players.
"We can identify over-age players at Under-17 competitions at no risk to the individual. This is of considerable help both to member associations and Fifa."
Fifa first began researching the use of MRI technology in 2003 but have only now reached the stage where they are able to judge age with more than 99% certainty.

Results from previous Under-17 World Cups in 2003, 2005 and 2007 revealed that up to 35% of players were over-age.
The Nigeria Football Federation, who are to host the 2009 Under-17 event, initially claimed the tests were not reliable, but having undertaken MRI assessments on their players they have dropped 15 squad members.
In a statement on their official website, Fifa accepts that age verification in some countries is extremely difficult, but that it hopes to use the new technology to eradicate some nations benefiting from the unfair advantage of fielding over-age players.
"In the past, over-age players have been wrongly entered into various youth competitions, often benefiting from an unfair advantage due to their greater physical maturity compared to players of the proper age," read the statement.
"Until now, the main way of checking a player's age was to look at the date of birth stated in his or her passport - but this does not always solve the issue."
The Under-17 World Cup runs from 24 October until 15 November.
