Maybe next Christmas I get to FaceTime with Juve’s #9….

In all seriousness, he struck me as smart, and career orientated, like I said. Elite club, elite coach, and that advice, make the decision that helps you get to be a legend.

I wonder how much the injury to Chiesa has driven this into priority for Juve?

shame, I genuinely thought we’d get him and I’d have this mad thing where I’d chatted to our new CF.

Maybe we can swoop for a couple of Juve players to soften the blow? If he's going there anyway might as well try and improve us.

It is a sad example again though of the club not striking at the ideal moment because of up-front cost then missing out. Story of our last decade really...

Apparently they don't. But the big clubs always find a way.
For every passing day, our 'To Dare Is To Do' becomes more and more of a joke of a motto honestly. Anyway I'm keeping calm, I knew we wasnt going to get this guy, I'll be happy with 2 decent players in this window.

I could be clutching at straws (I am) but Romano said that Juventus are doing a similar route to what Arsenal did which was make contact with Juve and then it's "up to the player", so doesn't sound like anything is agreed just yet though admittedly there's been lots of noise that Juventus is his preference but we shall see.

You have a funny interpretation of 'calm' ?

You can understand why juventus have gone for him. That could be their striker position filled for the next ten years.

His agent has clearly been stringing us along this season, and arsenal too I’d imagine.

At the end of the day we are just never going to be first choice for players in his situation.

It’s why it makes it so hard to move up a level and challenge. We need to be really ambitious / aggressive in the market and also come up with the money at the right moment.

We should have pushed the boat out last summer if we really wanted him, that was our chance. Whether it was another to dare is too dear moment from the club or the player wasn’t keen we will never know. But once again we seem to miss out on a target which would really improve us and that’s really the bottom line.

Just imagining Dusan slumped and dejected after training with a tear running down one cheek: "But what about Tottenham, boss, did they call?"

I get what you are saying, but let's be honest, if we did this over the summer, how pumped would everyone be on the signing? I didn't know who he was prior to this season. Who knows if under Nuno he would've ever hit his stride in the prem and be scorring goals like he is now. Hindsight is 20/20 and yeah if we had a time machine I'd go back, drop 40 mil on him and drop my nuts on the table as a sign of dominance but unfortunately that's not possible :/

Ah fuck you guys, until he signs for someone else, I'm still holding out hope.
?

From what we’ve been told on here, the player has given his word he’d like to join us. But yet there’s no inkling from any journalists that we’ve even made a bid or Opened talks with fiorentina. It doesn’t make any sense.

He’s clearly available this window, but yet nothing from us at all. Maybe we’ve already been told the player wants to join juventus, or maybe we really just don’t have the funds, and the latest itk was that nothing had changed and he wanted to join us in the summer. I know many transfers are complex and mysterious but I’d love to know the ins and outs of this one one day….if he does indeed go elsewhere. Not that we will ever find out of course!

Juventus is his absolute number 1 choice of club.

There's no way he rejects them if Fiorentina accepts their offer.

We missed our chance last summer. That was the time to get him.

Silly Daily Mail. They have spelt Tottenham wrong, Tottenham doesn't start with a J followed by a U

This is the most likely scenario if Juventus can find the money. They are crying out for a striker or anyone to score goals.

As I said a week ago. It’s seemed like the most obvious outcome despite lots of people saying it wouldnt because Juventus wouldn’t be able to afford. It’s what these huge clubs do. They find a way in the end.

I thought they didnt have money?

See my post from the other day. They had a €300m cash injection for transfers a couple of years ago. They were always going to find the cash. I reckon we’ve known he’s likely to go there for weeks. There’s been no serious links to him with us from the media for ages.
