Appreciate the ITK saying he was interested in us. Don’t doubt it, Conte, Prem, London etc. but one of the big dogs was always gonna make a move. Not in a position to compete even with Conte at the moment. Reminds me a bit of Frenkie de Jong. He openly said after the fact Spurs was interesting and he thought about it but once Barca came in it’s game over.

I get what you are saying, but let's be honest, if we did this over the summer, how pumped would everyone be on the signing? I didn't know who he was prior to this season. Who knows if under Nuno he would've ever hit his stride in the prem and be scorring goals like he is now. Hindsight is 20/20 and yeah if we had a time machine I'd go back, drop 40 mil on him and drop my nuts on the table as a sign of dominance but unfortunately that's not possible :/

I think many of us would have been ecstatic to be honest. It was a really exciting link even if we didn’t know much about him before. Strikers are generally pretty exciting signings especially when they come with a big price tag from a major league. It was clearly quality of player that would have walked straight into the side and raised the level of the squad. Of course hindsight is wonderful but at spurs recent history suggests when there are two choices about a signing we make the wrong choice.

Am sure we will have a plan b. Right? Or is it to go with 1 CF until kane retires or runs his contract out. ?
Charles De Ketelaere, Jonathan David and another young French lad are the other strikers we’ve been linked with. None are the level of Vlahovic but he’s only bettered by Mbappe and Haaland in terms of young strikers so it’s a big ask.

See my post from the other day. They had a €300m cash injection for transfers a couple of years ago. They were always going to find the cash. I reckon we’ve known he’s likely to go there for weeks. There’s been no serious links to him with us from the media for ages.

colleague of mine is a Juve fan and has said same the Agnellis will find the cash plus they can get some money on outs.

I am with you, not sure i believe he was I number one target. I think Juve has always been his destination

Gutted about this. Felt like it would have been a bit of a statement of intent for Conte.

Hope we went for him this window and he just preferred Juve but I doubt we even tried. Strung along by the agents again, and back into the cycle of trying to find a decent back-up striker.

I understand his agent were probably telling us all the things we wanted to hear, but genuinely surprised so many thought he'd actually end up here, it was only ever going to happen for us in the summer if we sold Kane IMO.

I was genuinely very concerned he'd end up at Arsenal though so that's a relief.

Juventus was always going to be his destination. Think saw mentioned his agent(s) have have had some sort of weird deal with Juve for a while and if he were to go elsewhere, they'd he'd have to cough up and pay Juve or something or another.

They’ll likely move for Isak now which will still be annoying. Alvarez going to City as well so the list of top striker prospects is dwindling if we’re looking for Kane’s or even Son’s ,who’s 30 this year, successor.

Agreed that him not ending at arsenal is a relief but I did think we had an actual shot at him. I’m very bummed about it but at least he’s not in the prem

We're about to sign Mohamed-Ali Cho. Fuck Vlahovic

I know it’s a joke but the reality is this is Spurs under Enic. And no I’m not moaning but it’s just factual observation.

Spurs are linked to Dybala but we end up with Nkoudou and N’jies.

Linked to Vlahovic but will sign Ali Cho.

Linked to Skriniar and we sign Rodon.

We occasionally make a signing like Romero or Ndombele that are ambitious but compared to the elite clubs it’s just not enough.

I’m really fascinated to see if it changes next summer because it has to really. Otherwise we aren’t ever closing the gap.

It's a real shame we missed out on this fella, I'm sure there's a few more players in the French league we can have a punt at for a fraction of the price.

Maybe we will consider or plan on making a move in 10 years when he is running down his contract

I can see us going for Scamacca now as a plan B. He will be another player we will need to offload in a couple of seasons as he isnt good enough.
