I believe city have already signed Savio from Girona who is a flying left winger who's excellent in 1v1s. Which will make grealish surplus anyway.

I see strong links for city and paqueta in the more central attacking midfield role.

Maybe stars will align..
Personally I think it’s more likely Savio will play more predominantly on the right given he’s left footed. I know he plays on the left currently but he’s also played a lot on the right in the past and I’d be surprised if Pep started playing wingers rather then inside forwards. time will tell tho.

This would be a statement signing. For those doubting we would pay the money we paid more than most of us thought we would for Richarlison and Johnson so I could see us stretch to 60m (all in including add-ons) for such a premier League proven player.
Obviously be great to include a player the other way but most clubs these days are too smart to take our cast offa when they can usually buy cheaper players with higher ceilings from financially strapped clubs abroad.

We paid £50m for Johnson and £60m for Richarlison.

We can definitely afford Eze if that's a deal we want to do.

I agree with him
Seems like it could be an expensive and tricky deal to do. Be interesting to see if we decide to pursue it, one would imagine it could have a significant effect on the rest of our business due to the likely large fee.

Good player but we have other priorities so I doubt we'll spaff £60m+ on him. My guess is he ends up at Man City as a replacement for Bernardo Silva.

Agree. If our squad was stronger and and we were just looking for one or two players of higher quality, he’s the kind of signing we should be looking at.

This summer we should be looking to buy at least 4-5 players for the first team squad.

It’s not the right time for a signing like Eze.

I think we need to do too much to be spending this sort of money on him.

We need another more defensive midfielder, arguably as a starter and to strengthen other positions so to spend 60 million or more for him when he probably wouldn't even be guaranteed to start is unlikely I'd say .

The Genoa lad sounds like a similar profile and will cost a third of it and be on half the wages so I think it's more transfers like that.

And to be fair if it turns out like Vicario I'll have no problem with it.

We really paid for it in that 2017-2021 period where we just seemed to stop focusing on talents emerging closer to home.

Not saying we'd get all of them but Grealish, Maddison, Eze and Olise could have been here for cheaper. I suppose you could say, in Eze and Olise's case, that they needed to move to a team like Palace to play regularly but they have been brilliant since they joined (although Eze did get a serious injury immediately)

We often criticise the club for not being ambitious enough, yet we are worrying about how we will manage the rest of the funds?

I'm sure that is taken into great consideration.

I'd personally have him here at 70m. I think he's class.

And one important aspect, especially after watching Palace under Glasner, is Eze's ability to play fast incisive football - perfect for Ange's system. Forget about positioning for a minute. Players like that adapt.

Also, we need more players who contribute in attacking numbers. Johnson is picking up but if Sonny is off it, we don't have enough all around and Eze provides that.

You have to pay premium for that.

I also see people saying he's 26. So? We signed Maddison at the same age, these players are entering their prime and you could get 5 brilliant years out of them.

Worth it

he’s a priority.. This is a player the clubs had interest for over 3 years now.
we’ve struggled with teams in certain defensive blocks going back to the Pochettino era, because we’ve lacked a player of his ability.

I’m not sure he’s a priority. We are terrible at getting deals like this done. We rarely buy players from within the Premier League and especially not from financially stable clubs or players with full contracts.

I don’t know much about Eze’s or Palace’s situation but going by experience it feels more likely we will look for another option from Europe.
