Not sure if this is new or not. Can't find a recent version on Fabs page.

I get the feeling that Levy has an old fashioned tendency to not want to pay high fees for defenders. We've seen other clubs spend big on that position and be massively improved. Pool overpaid for VVD but they wouldn't have achieved what they did without him. It's such an important position in modern football. Hopefully Ange can win him over on this one. We've made some good signings but I really think success this season depends on our recruitment at the back. If we don't have pace at the back the system won't work.

It was on his podcast via on amp.

West Ham moving for his teammate and fellow centre half Jonathan Tah according to their top ITK. Would make this even more difficult than it already is.

It would end it completely. Leverkusen are ambitious and have no more need for money when they sell Tah and Diaby. They play three at the back and just won't give up on two regular starters.

Think we would of signed both Tapsoba and VDV by now if we wanted them. We might just end up with Tosin and Ibanez.

There’s been a deal available on Ibanez all summer by the sounds of it. Definitely has an air of “easy deal we can do quickly if we don’t get our main targets” about it. Same with Tosin given he’s got a very low price attached to him.

That they’ve not been done yet gives me hope we’re still pushing for at least one of VDV and Tapsoba.

Roma tried to push Ibanez on us, after they've tried Villa, Fulham and more. Now they're cutting price, so yes definitely a Levy deal to be had. Roma REALLY need the money, most Italian clubs do - Juve too.

The worst part is why we bother identifying targets when we have little intention in meeting the selling Clubs valuation.

Everything we do reeks of opportunistic buying and time wasting.

The odd time the stars align and it works out but to use it as a general approach to transfers is fucking infuriating.

Why is he still at Leverkusen, why hasnt anyone else bought him?
Other teams (who can afford him) have other priorities.
Lets face it, only a few English teams and very few europeans have the ability to pay the fee to get him (also the saudis, but not sure he has a big enough profile)

We've just had a complete piss take offer from A Madrid for Hojbjerg. It's how clubs operate.

So we adapt to a data-driven approach to lessen chances of signing ill-suited players, our scouts and data analysts identify him as a Premium choice and Levy still baulks at the fee
Our data analysis approach is not correlated to our propensity to pay index. Software needs to be adapted to take into account we only want players available at discounts.

Feels like more of us are getting super pissed off with the clubs recruitment and this deal, and our wider approach to get a CB, are at the heart of it.

Fed up with deals for players at clubs who need money, one year remaining on their contract, using a loophole or part of a relegated team. It can lead to good players but where we could have been or could go with someone who wants to actually win is starting to open cracks in how this club is run.

If this season doesn't start well, the resentment around the club is going to spiral.

Getting Tapsoba - seemingly our top CB target - is not only the best thing we can do for the team right now, but also for the clubs management.

Villa and Spam went for the two players that BL were trying to sell this window for contract reasons; we went for a player they didn’t want to lose.
Still either way you have to determine if they are willing to sell and if so at what cost. If its too much move on. We've obviously had encouragement that he is available at a cost.

because they respect the selling club and pay what both parties are happy with. the baldy twat just piss everyone involved off so that he could win his games
Yeah, so much respect for selling club when West Ham offered 20m for Maguire when United wants 40m or when first offer for Diaby from Aston Villa was 30m and final agreed price was ~50m
