This is not about how well he played. It is about something else.

I was watching the game as a download and just past the 80min mark he made a clearance that resulted in a throw. Then they showed a close up of him for a couple of seconds, and I thought that his afro looked amazing. So I decided to play the whole scene in slow motion, when I realized that someone from the stands was beaming a laser pointer in his eyes. I could see the light dancing on Ekotto's face. Is this legal? I know that due to the nature of the light they emit lasers can damage the retina.

I think the club should do something about it.

Boris, I think that maybe your man love fo0r Benni has gone a little far. It is understandable and I'm not saying it's wrong but watching slow motion videos of his afro does sound a little on the creepy side.

I can't believe it's that difficult for stewards to spot someone in stands shinning a laser in players faces. They are meant to spend the whole game looking at the crowd and not the game. There really are some fooking idiots out there and i would have no problem grassing up someone if I saw them doing it.

"Is this legal?" to try damage someones eyes with a laser?

I would have thought the answer was blindingly obvious...

This incident was pointed out by the Sky commentators at the time and was more of a passing comment and they didn't dwell on it at all.

It was a Man Utd fan planted there to try and ruin Liverpool's reputation.

I think this is the best thing I've ever read on here.
