Point taken but a 10% increase to most of us would be considered a very good increase but not in footballing circles apparently.

If you want to sell your car, getting a 10% increase on a decent offer is very nice work.

If you really don't want to sell it, a 10% increase on a unappealing offer is meaningless. Derisory even.

Football is not different from life, just more noughts involved.

Mourinho is getting worse season by season!!! Thought he was ok when he came to these shores, bit of banter etc but when I see him now I just wanna slap him, he's not even a 'coach'!!! He's like a teenage girl catalogue shopping. Il give him 18 months & he's gone.

Man Utd please fuck off, he's happy & under contract.

Seriously getting tired of it now!!!

I think Eric needs to understand that his future lies at CB. He may be a very good DM if he wants to end up there, but he could be a truly superb CB if he knuckles down, irons out some of the defensive lapses in his game at the moment.

In our system(s) yes, but his best position for me is the base of a three man midfield.

That's Mourinho's style.. Get the excuses in early, unsettle rival teams with wind up comments and then watch the flames ignite. He's a fraud at best

The media seem to think that football exists for Man Utd's convenience. Football is bigger than Man Utd it's not the other way around, if it was I would want no part of it.

Mourinho and many Man Utd bandwagon jumpers seem to think they have a divine right to pick off the best fruits from the tree whenever they feel like it.

We must be resolute and we must refuse all their offers point blank. Whatever figure they offer is irrelevant the more important point is that if we accept, they know they can have one over us anytime they feel, and building a team will simply be pointless, it really is as simple as that.

If we are really serious about building something special and moving forward all offers from them for players we hold in high regard and important to us must be rebuffed whatever they are, unless they are for players that we deem are not good enough for us, teams that challenge for titles need to hear that message loud and clear from us and they need to believe it, if we start budging they will always think that they can wear us down and we will never be taken seriously, if we do not adopt that fundamental strategy we will be going nowhere and the game will all but be lost to megabucks bandwagon jumpers and we might as well all pack up and go home.

I'd be disappointed to see him leave. Selling off our key core of English players, regular starters, is a sign of weakness. Walker, I can accept, as we have Trippier who offers something a bit different at RWB, plus Kyle Walker-Peters on the horizon, we're not too bad off. Dier however, is a totally different situation. We have no like for like alternative within the club, also a player who would allow us to do tactically flexible.
The media sound bytes coming out last night seem pretty definitive though, not for sale, coupled with the ITK stating no core players will be allowed to leave with the exception of Walker.

Would anyone be tempted if they offered us a deal to include Martial? Poch def wanted him before Utd came in with silly money. His pace would be a great addition to the squad.

I want Dier to stay.

But if Poch sanctioned Dier leaving, then I'd want us to try to get Martial and a significant transfer fee.

I think Mourinho misused and mishandled most of his flair players last season, and Martial would prosper until Poch.

It's not just Dier's positional flexibility, it's the strength of character he bring's as Chelscum found out at the Bridge last April. He just won't take any shit and will hunt down piss takers on the pitch. Clubs now don't see us a easy meat as we were in the past!

No I wouldn't because it would underline the principle that they believe they can take any of our players they want, regardless of how important they are to us, and by the same token they will believe that they can palm off players to us they no longer need or think are good enough for them.

This underlines the theory that we are there simply to serve them, and we will forever be deemed to be below them which is a far more important belief to dispel than the actual exchange or offer that may be tabled. Quite simply put, we should only offer to exchange players with them that we don't want or need or who we don't think are good enough for us anymore.
