Am I the only person here who thinks the death of 2 colleagues in the football industry by Conte is overplayed by posters. he's painted as this fragile rmotionsl wreck which is just absurd.
More than 2 colleagues, I think you vastly underestimate the closeness between both Conte & Ventrone as well as Conte & Vialli (unsure how close he was to Mihajlovic).

It can give you a sense of perspective and re-evaluate what’s important esp when you then has health issues of your own.

Just do it now use the illness as a face saver for both sides get poch in and get some fresh energy to the end of the season rather than continuing with something stale that everyone knows has a short shelf life.
? would be the best thing to do, it would be proactive and unfortunately that is something under Levy we are not and will never be :-(

Agree mate. Conte has been backed fairly reasonably tbh, probably more so than any other previous manager.

Yet that isn’t workable. Conte like Pep works with Elite, we knew this before hiring him and yet here we are with Dier and Davies in the backline. Maybe Conte was a fool for taking the role but that is on Levy and the board.

Backing a manager ENIC style and backing a manager Chelsea or Inter style are very different.

Then add a health scare of his own on top of it. That's the kind of thing that really makes you re-evaluate your priorities in life. They weren't just deaths either, they came from out of nowhere. There's the shock factor as well.

Yeah it isn't overplayed. Everybody is different in how they deal with things.

His commitment to the club is 100% this season, even after surgery he tried to return quicker than the Dr and specialists advised. He knows how important he is to the team and his staff and wants to be part of this everyday.
Yes he has had a lot happen personally over 12months but his commitment is at THFC.
Now for my Opinion and this is only opinion I think he stays next year and signs a new deal. But not until he is 100% with his health. I also think Kane will sign too for what it’s worth.
Him and FP are so close and love working together. His relationship with DL is also as good but obviously he wants more, but that is what great coaches always want.

I think your right, something doesn't gel him supposedly wanting/ intending to leave and at the same time his commitment/ action... its like two extremes

A fully fit Conte who is back to 100% health and signing a new contract will be the best bit of business this club has done this season. Let’s see what happens!

Irrespective of whether it would be or not it isn't going to happen.

I didn’t mention managers being perfect as I know that’s not possible. I just mentioned some of the flaws of Poch which many on here are using as a stick to beat Conte with.

We went on a great journey with Poch with one of the best squads assembled in my lifetime, but let’s not pretend the squad hasn’t been allowed to stagnate since he left and is now far weaker. Every good team is built on defensive stability and we’ve not had that since peak Poch.

it’s a little harsh to compare the achievements of the managers we’ve had since as the squad is way weaker now and the defence has been shot since we lost Walker, Rose, Jan and Toby. I’m sure Conte would’ve loved the opportunity to work with that defence (particularly those flying wing backs) and Moussa screening them

You’re quick to tell us all that Poch is the man, but I’m just saying I have my reservations as we’re a different animal now and the squad still needs a serious overhaul.
I just do not understand how everyone defends poch for not winning the league when Leicester won it.
We only had Europa league, and it’s not like we went deep in that competition.
We had a better side and squad then Leicester, but he lost key games home and away against Leicester and that pivotal chelsea match at home.
I would put money on conte winning the league that season if he had that spurs side.

I get what you're saying but we drew with Leicester away, conceded a minute after going 1 up, and we drew with Chelsea twice that season too. The West Brom fixtures were more of a travesty.

Losing at home to Leicester was a killer though as that would have really made a difference.

The other thing and think was difficult for us was playing after Leicester every week bar the home NLD where Kane scored THAT goal. That was just shit from the league and TV companies and said everything about who they wanted to win it tbh. Still grates on me.

Inter isn’t elite, they spend less than us. How many so called “elite“ inter got ??‍♂️. What is ”Enic” style backing mean is it Monopoly money. What is correct backing is exactly in your opinion 500 million or more. Money is bottom less pit when it’s come to opinions. Conte knew exactly what he let himself into he isn’t naive young manager but yet it is all on Levy. His football style and stubbornness isn’t up to Levy it is up to him. If he is such progressive manager do tell me why it’s taken him 8 month to start playing Erickson in Inter ??‍♂️??‍♂️??‍♂️

Probably a lot to do with the fact that teams rolled over for Leicester as they wanted them to win the league as well.

We were top of the league for 14 minutes that entire season.

I could also argue that in Kante and Mahrez, two players who’ve become key parts of great sides since, as well as Vardy and Schmeichel who remained top class for many years that we didn’t have a much better side. We were regularly playing Kevin Wimmer, Tom Carroll and Clinton N’Jie.

Why are people discussing POCH’s tenure in the Conte thread? Do we not have a thread where y’all can hold hands, reminisce and sing kum-by-yah?

Inter have a backline of Skrinair, De Virj and Bastoni. As for Conte he has won mutiple titles including a title in the prem with Chelsea. He is a proven winner and yet like Jose not with us. We could get Klopp and Pep and still fail. The common denominator isn’t the managers.

Clinton N’Jie and the word regularly, do not fit your narrative there. Other than that, I mainly agree with your post.

Irrespective of whether it would be or not it isn't going to happen.

None of us really know that do we?

It’s quite conceivable that everything is how it appears. And due to the turbulent events he’s experienced in his personal life he’s just going to see how he feels about the situation in the summer.

If we have a positive end to the season maybe he signs, maybe he doesn’t. Point is nothing is set in stone. As humans we change our minds all the time. Conte seems like an especially emotional man. What he feels today might not be the same as he feels about a situation tomorrow.

Speaking with such certainty about a situation most of us have very little information about seems completely pointless at this stage.

That's great to hear, I also hope he signs a new contract.
