thats not really an argument, as mason hasn’t had a managerial career.
Using the same logic I can say “mason has never been sacked, unlike nuno in his ‘career’.

This is petty.

My original point was that it's better to stay with Nuno who has experienced relative success in the prem, and in other leagues, than appoint a novice in Mason. There is nothing especially controversial about this statement, unless you're trying to petty.

Completely agree, Parker has done a fantastic job at Bournemouth so far and has got them playing great football. I think they're gonna run away with the league this season.
Been lucky enough to watch them play live a couple times this season, they're great to watch and you can see the players work their arses off for him, he isn't afraid to switch things up if things aren't going well either.

They're not even that much of a strong team on paper, just a well-drilled, hard-working team.

I definitely think we should be keeping a close eye on him.
Completely agree with this, I watched them play Stoke off the park the other week, something which West Brom had failed miserably to do the week before. It's all action, and the players look after the ball so well, they actually reminded me of Potters Brighton a bit. Was like chalk and cheese from watching our dour and miserable football. My fear with Bournemouth is they might do what Leeds did and burn out when the run of games comes thick and fast but they are certainly going great guns at the moment.

I actually said that I didn’t want mason over nuno.

so you bringing him up to me was, and still is, odd.

What do people make of him bombing winks and dele out of the squad?

Winks it will be for the comments after the game midweek but Dele could be anything I guess. More of the same behind the scenes perhaps. Probably will be the start of a load of negative articles if he's committing them from squads from now on in.

Fine by me, I hope Fabio's already working on deals for them to leave in January.

I wonder which team would win - if you told the players on both teams that the losing manager on Saturday would be sacked - and the winning manager would remain for the season...

This could be a reason why sticking with him this season may he worth it.

If a new coach was to come in now, once again Winks, Doherty, Sanchez and Dele get inserted back into the squad and are given yet another chance to make a claim. Depsite us all knowing how it will end.

I think this season may just have been seen as a 'clearing of the decks' and a chance to 'bring in the new generation' with Nuno seen as a stable pair of hands with a small chance of him doing better than imagined.

Therefore, when the new coach comes in to the club nect summer, his job is mainly to gel this new bunch and get them to become a well drilled team without the side distraction of having players like Dele, Winks and co hanging around - maybe even Kane will be part of that.

I can't say I completely agree with this strategy because it's a long way back from where we were and we could have actually brought in Conte and boosted the squad instead with quality instead of potential.

But I guess we were always going to have problems shifting players on who believe they should be here and playing.

I still think United would beat us even if they wanted to lose. Our attacking play is that poor we would need them to score for us.

I think the shambles goes back much farther than that.

You can trace it to poch saying painful rebuild , Levy ignored him and its snowballed from there.

I agree about nuno but I would say it is pretty urgent as this fanbase is becoming more and more fed up and its only a matter of time before it translates to the ground.

Whether it's poch, Potter or anyone else we need to act quicker
A big part of the problem was that Poch was a fucking disaster in the transfer market.

Even during the rebuild he chose Lo Celso over Bruno Fernandes and turned down numerous targets.

Poch was an excellent coach and created a team better than anything else we'd had previously in the Prem era. But he was terrible in the transfer market and we're still feeling the repercussions now.

If keeping Nuno until Feb ensures we can get rid of Alli and Winks in January, I'd rather we did that.

I don't see why it should be one or the other, but I guess changing managers means that these players feel they will get another chance and refuse to move.

It probably shouldn't have been but at the same time we have had ITK that stated the likes of Dele, Sanchez and Winks were adament about staying and it's hard to fob them off to clubs like Southampton, Newcastle or whoever as they believe that level is beneath them.

It wasn't long ago Dele was being linked with Psg and Winks with Valencia and it's hard for them to accept that they won't get that level. Hopefully as time goes on they realise that they need regular game time more than anything (it looks like Winks is realising).

Unfortunately for us we don't seem to be able to buy their replacements first. For example, I think the club should have got Olise in as Dele's replacement last summer but the club can't afford to have Dele sitting in the stands being told he won't play.

Perhaps Nuno was seen as a safe pair of hands who may be able to get the best out of these types and a few others and if not we get them out before the new guy comes in.

It feels like a waste of time but it may lead us to a better more focused squad next year.

Or perhaps I'm giving the club unwarranted praise and am being naive.

this is waht i keep coming back to, alright it may have been paratici's choice, but levy has eyes! he should have vetoed the approach, every man and his dog could tell you it was going to end up the way it has, but unfortunately - he's here till the summer, and there's nothing we can do about it.

think we will beat burnley tonight to paper over the cracks, and utd will smash us on the weekend!
So true, we will get a 1 nil win tonight, the fans start believing again and then Saturday big smack in the face when we get beat 4 nil by United. Yet no one at the top level cares. I have lost all espectations now i would just like to see a few shots on goal in a game, is that to much to ask for?

It's difficult to feel the club has a plan at the moment. I could sort of see it with the recruitment, which so far looks reasonable, with the understanding you can't transform a squad in one window. The appointment of Nuno just undoes all that, where it is such a poor appointment it is a struggle to explain how we have any sort of plan to work towards. A manager is such a fundamental figure at a football club, it all flows down from him.

Maybe he really is a caretaker, but I find it incredible that the club would write off a season like that.

Fair play to him if he’s seen enough of Alli & Winks. If the attitude/application isn’t there, leave them out.

They do both seem to have an air of entitlement about them and clearly they’re not earning a place in the squad let alone the team.

“Sorry Daniel, I tried but they’re not as good as they (or you) think they are”.

Many here wanting Poch back have selective memories.
3.5 years were GREAT and l loved it.
But the final year was shocking
I'm not wanting this as Levy won't support him (I don't think DL will fully back anyone)
