I think the 2-0 away to city in cup playing 80 of minutes with only 10 men against a team who where flying at that point & not lost a home game at that point of season!
The Carling Cup final is obviously high up on the list but we've had some real good games at WHL this season, 4-4 against Villa, our anniversary game IIRC, then 6-4 against Reading, 5-1 against 'them' and another 4-4 against Chelsea. Both 4-4's were great comebacks and dramatic and had Berbatov not missed at the end against Chelsea, it would probably have made that game the best Premiership game of all time, let alone this season.
I'd say all things considered, our Semi-Final win against the dark side was, for me, the game of the season. So much heartache and so many years of waiting released in 90 wonderful minutes. The Que Sera Sera choruses during the last 10 minutes will stay in the memory for ever.
yep it's between the 2-0 5-1 and 2-1 heroic performances of the cup - but as I was at the 5-1 I'll go frr that-
I've been waiting nearly 40 years for vengeance since AFC did us in the 68-9 lge cup semi - with late goals from Radford in both legs- and what a way to be avenged - que sera sera indeed
At a game I was at (you have remember every home game I dont go to is a thriller) It has to be 6-4 against reading, or the CC final (simply 'cause we won, but looking back on dvd it was quite a scrappy game, and mostly a tactical battle)
It'd have to be the Carling Cup Final, I think that's the obvious choice though. I'd go with 5-1 or the 4-4 versus Chelsea. I really liked our 1-1 versus Man United too, but we deserved to win and we lost heartbreakingly.
Difficult one for me, all our best performances were against the top 4 (even the losses). The CC final was the icing on the cake, the 5-1 at home was the night of the season, but I'm going for the CC semi-first leg at the toilet bowl. Out playing them on their own ground was a sight to behold.
