When a journalist asks them a direct question about a player, I suppose they have to answer it. However, Spanish clubs do use their best players to try and lure transfer targets in. Madrid did it with Modric, getting every player under the sun to say how great he was.

Chelsea tried it with John Terry....and Modric thought f**k that!

Daily Fail are running a story of Luka Modric + 30m for Bale.

God, when will they just think about shit before the throw it out there?

I just wonder who the frack are they paying for these high quality $hit stories and how much....Wish I had that as an extra job, cause I'd be able to have an extra income for just 1/2 hour's work a day tops....:)

Why should they? It's what they've been doing for the last 20 years and making a mint off it.

I see Bale is talking about how great B Munich, R Madrid and Barca are compared to PSG just after being linked to them in the press. Although I doubt he will leave this year, unless we dont get CL, it is a real shame that everyone seems to accept the fact it will be for one more season max. I do think that the quality of play we bring in the off season may factor in, as will next years campaign. But unfortunately unless we are seriously challenging for the league he will most likely go to one of the three by end of next year. He is vary vocal about his admiration for Giggs, just wish he would take a leaf out of his book and commit long term to the club.

I think that he will end up at Manchester United. Then Giggs connection, closeness to Wales. They have Cherry-picked a couple of our players in the recent past too. Fergie will be thinking why buy the old Ronaldo when I can get on the training ground and work on the new one.

Why on earth would we sell to Man United?!

Why on earth would we sell to Man United?!

Because the player might want to go there?

But i doubt Man Utd will pay the asking price and I doubt Bale would go on strike. He might not be happy about it, but it depends on what his reasonings are for wanting to specifically go to Man Utd vs anywhere else.

Regardless. Finish 3rd/4th and get new acquisitions and I doubt he will go anywhere.

Closeness to Wales? you do know London is much closer to Wales than Manchester is, Manchester is closer to Scotland!
Levy would have year long burning Diarrhea than sell a star player to United again

Damn those facts. They spoil a good opportunity to panic.

Closer than Madrid, Barcelona and Paris. I still think Fergie is the main threat to us losing Bale this summer.

Don't understand how a smart, young, and modern footballer would want to go to Man U just cause they are Man U-who manage to luckily get all they want. There is no history to be made there, one cannot be a standout figure there as they are now a sort of conveyor belt of talents. If one wants to achieve a real worthy and fulfilling goal in life, one must test himself in an actual challenge. In Man U, a player can get a bit more wealth, image, and a few hurrah's for a short time span and then you are forgotten cause they are always lucky enough to buy a decent replacement. If Bale is to make himself a lasting memory in a great club like ours who never forgets its heroes, he should stay....and ask Levy for a bit of a raise and quality additions to the squad :) ....

Anyhoo - with Ronaldo a prime example (and having to fill Rooney's fat face with gold to stop him leaving) - aren't Man U technically a selling club with that class of talent? Sir Alex won't be there forever, so 'who will be manager' would be kinda crucial to a young man giving thought to his long term future. Interestingly, young Gareth's relationship with AVB seems rather sound.

I think we might be able to fetch the pipe and slippers, and sit back for at least two season's worth of Bale in a Spurs shirt.

Sweet dreams, all.
