If Man U aren't the other club who has bid for him (according to the papers, who lets be frank have sold him a dozen times this window). Could it be Man C?

The Mickey Thomas article on the BBC website is embarrassing

I put the full article in the media watch thread - this is just one quote from it he makes

"The whispers around Old Trafford are that he's Old Trafford-bound," he said.

The BBC shouldn't print shit like this

Listening to GHOD on talkshite this morning it seems that he's now changed his tune after speaking with Levy on the weekend that Bale is off to Madrid.

BBC have let standards drop considerably as far as transfers, or potential transfers, is concerned and I don't understand why. The danger is people recognise this and believe or assume the lowering of stnadards applies to everything reported on the BBC.

man utd cannot afford him, if madrid can't i highly doubt it that man utd will especially with the amount that Levy will ask for plus he will not want to sell to close competition.

Wow, Glen Hoddle ITK on Talkshite!

In response to us 'spending Bale money already' question he sounded as if he was going to correct the presenter in a 'it's not Bale money' kind of way but stopped himself.

He then said he had a long chat with Daniel and we expect to be doing quite a bit of further business in the window.

Also Daniel said that he expects to really do something in the league if Bale stays but hard to stop him going to Madrid.

Pretty much backed up the ITK on the following:

Have funds outside Bale money
Further significant spending
Bale still might stay
We are 'going for it' as in IT not just scraping a CL place.

Reasons to be cheerful.

Heard it too, he also aid that Bale wants to go.
Everyone and their dog knows that Bale would like to play at the top and that IF his valuation is met he will go... he hasn't gone yet and he still might play for spurs this season.

If he was sold he would have gone already, but today is key... does he train with the squad today or not? If he does, then things could be interesting and the press will not know which way is up (please Gareth do it just for that, even if sold lol...) If he doesn't then the speculation will continue.

Oh and Man United can't afford Bale? You guys are smoking something funny and should stop. Don't remember reading that the TV windfall we all got wasn't give to Man United as well and last I checked they hadn't spent a penny. Do not for one minute think that they can't afford Bale... The club is desperate to show they are backing Moyes in this new era, to think otherwise is to seriously underestimate that club.

Hoddle as been saying for weeks now that Bale will stay, and that Real have not got the money.
Lets hope he knows more than we think.

The reality is if Bale is worth 125m to Utd, he is worth 125m to us. I don't think Bale will force a move to United and we shouldn't even think about selling him to them at any price. Whether they can afford him or not should be irrelevant to the discussion.

I think that was quite clear anyway but I also think he only wants to go if it is Madrid. So unless Madrid pay up he stays. Also some rumouring that Daniel has moved the goalposts because he is pissed at Madrids behaviour.

I'm sure we will find out more after the window but I think Daniel is playing a blinder. Treating Bale with respect and agreeing that he can go to Madrid if they meet the valuation. Ensuring Bale remains happy with us so will stay if Madrid doesn't happen rather than piss him off so he wants to go anywhere. Deliberately making it difficult for Madrid to meet the valuation, increasing the fee due to their behaviour when they thought they were close. A great game of poker where he is probably aiming to win the jackpot by keeping Bale but is guaranteed all the chips on the table if he loses this hand.

I think we will get some clarification today, something to give a clearer indication regarding bales future, whether this comes as a statement from either club or a visual of Gareth saying his goodbyes, we will get something

That might be the case, the point was I was referring to comments on here saying that Manchester United cannot afford Bale and the bid is bogus, I disagree. Whether we choose to sell him to United is another matter entirely, but to say United are broke and can't afford players is seriously wrong.
