They wouldn't get reliant on him though. He would provide a bunch of assists for Van Persie, score even more goals as Rooney's movement would make Bale utterly devastating as he would have more space and they would just pull away from the rest.

If we really want to win the league in the next few years then selling Bale to Utd would be stupid.

ok ok. We'll keep him instead :)

Thing is - we're now Tuesday. Real really have to get their a*se in gear to seal it by Friday.

I guess Bale (through his agent has already agreed personal terms) but still - they've only got 80 hours left for crying out loud, after two months of chasing!

We need to delay this move as long as possible to stop the scum getting Madrid players. So I can now see this go to deadline day.

I'm hoping Levy really wants a crack at the title so cash in the bank is no good for that. Ozil, Coentrao and 45m is though
This isn't really possible, if Madrid want bale he has to be signed sealed and delivered by Saturday night, this still gives arsenal till Monday night to bring in any from Madrid. I don't think the links to benzema or di Maria are genuine

Not that it really matters but Sandros exact words about having a word with Bale to stay were "It's dificil my friend he is done"

Why are Madrid trying to sell Benzema, Di Maria and Ozil behind the players backs (if the papers are right)?

They must be trying to raise the money. This could go on for a while I'm thinking.

Funny how the "definite" and the "sure thing" and the "To be announced on X date" re the Bale transfer on SSN have now turned into the "possible" and the "maybes" and "wait and see".

Is this a conscious effort i wonder to stop them looking like absolute mugs?

The guy at the training ground (the one tht looks like the daddy meerkat) seemed to be struggling for things make up say.
All he could come up with was we're waiting to see if Bale comes into training as up till an hour ago, he was seen at home in his boxer shorts (classy journalism right there) and Daniel Levy is in, perhaps they will have a staring contest o_O

If Arsenal sign any of Benzema, Di Maria or Ozil we will be in deep sh1t.

Why? Signing any of those players just papers over the cracks. They need a beastly DM, a goalkeeper and defenders not an inconsistent winger or someone to play Cazorla's role and Madrid won't sell Benzema.

From BBC/Telegraph on Bale:

"The Daily Telegraph say they expect the 24-year-old's world-record £86m move to go through despite Bale being forced to return to London from his weekend trip to Spain."

Wait what forced? What bollox is this.....?

When does training start? Is he actually supposed/expected to report to it?

My apologies if this has already been addressed.

The Spanish window closes an hour after the UK one, midnight on Monday.

I've seen this elsewhere, why Saturday night, not Monday?

We're into the last week then - not the position we wanted to be in, but a position we kind of expected to be in. Negotiations will go into the weekend, but I have a feeling Bale to RM is already done, but we're simply keeping up appearences - perhaps a PR exercise with Real with agreements Bale won't play again.

In anycase, I'm expecting never to see Gareth Bale in a Tottenham shirt again.
