Spanish national daily sports newspaper Marca is reporting that Real Madrid could announce the signing on Tottenham forward Gareth Bale in the next few hours.
The story says: "Real Madrid's bosses trust that they will be able to officially announce the signing of Gareth Bale this very Tuesday, and that the midfielder will arrive in Madrid to be presented on Wednesday, the day before playing in the Teresa Herrera Trophy against Deportivo at Riazor."

From BBC/Telegraph on Bale:

"The Daily Telegraph say they expect the 24-year-old's world-record £86m move to go through despite Bale being forced to return to London from his weekend trip to Spain."

Wait what forced? What bollox is this.....?

I suspect that is 'forced' as in "I was forced to get off my arse this morning as it was time to go to work."

Not that it really matters but Sandros exact words about having a word with Bale to stay were "It's dificil my friend he is done"

Given Sandro's spelling, is it too much to hope by "done" he actually means "Welsh"?

it would put a different spin on the conversation...

If this does indeed happen and he does play in that game I'd be very disappointed as apparently he's back to receive more treatment on his foot injury today. A foot injury which if it happened mid season would've kept him out for a week max I'm sure. Wasn't Rooney's metatarsal break recovery window shorter than this in 2006?

Is Gareth Bale at the training ground today? Somebody has to know. Aren`t there always people hanging outside there, especially in these transfer-days? I need some reports now.

If Bale is there today I really doubt that this is a done deal with signatures. I guess his personal terms are agreed, and maybe also the fee is discussed and settled, but I really doubt that he is a RM-player if he still plays ball with Spurs. Then there must be a situation where we are waiting for the replacement before papers are signed, or at the best (or worse?) the fee and everything are not really settled.. Still engotiations?

Sorry mate, livre is a book, libre is pound in French.

Livre is indeed a book, but it is also a £! Trust me mate, I live in France for the past 11 years and am fluent. (y) (Libre is 'Free' .. as in freedom as opposed to at no cost ... which is 'Gratuit')

[qoute]Who: Ali Z
Where: COYS
When: 27th August

As i said a few weeks ago Utd deffo in for Bale and would pay our demands, Bale has no interest in going there we have no interest in selling to them.[/qoute]

Like I said, United.
The fact we won't sell to him was always separate.

The interesting fact actually now becomes, if United can afford Bale and don't get him, who do they go for? Will they go through window without signing a single player? Is this what the ITK alluded to after the Willian affair that Mourinho was actually only buying Willian to stall all the other teams around Chelsea (and destabilise United further with Rooney bids).

Bale to anywhere other than staying at Spurs is clearly a lynch-pin domino that no one wants to see fall as it clearly means other movements! Arsenal, Liverpool, Man United... I have a feeling this whole Bale deal is much bigger than just him, it is potentially defining for lots of clubs.

Wow ... Gary Cotterell on SSN saying that Bale has not turned up at training. He says "Daniel Levy is in there, Villas Boas is in there, the whole squad is in there, the Chairman is in there..." Accuracy and a lack of hyperbole again from Sky. Apparently Bale is at home and is refusing to attend training due to Spurs not being "fair" to him.
It's amazing that Sky have the full schedule for when he was meant to be in and haven't shown it on screen.

I guess they think that from a sponsorship and marketing point of view he almost pays for himself or a significant proportion of the transfer. Other players not necessarily so.

Ahead of last weekend, I think both clubs were close to doing a deal.

Real erected a platform to present him, started advertising his shirt on their website and significantly we allowed him to travel to Spain. I don't think we would allow Bale to "holiday" at all, let alone in Spain right now. He was there in anticipation of a move.

Something has delayed this deal. Quite what it is, no one knows for certain.

- Have we changed the goalposts knowing Real have put all their eggs in Bale's basket?
- Is it all a ploy by THFC to ensure they get other deals in over the line first without having to pay inflated fees?
- Have Real changed the goalposts late in the window knowing that we've invested heavily and Gareth only wants to sign for them?

I would suspect it is the latter. The leak that a rival club have entered the race can only have come in from THFC. It appears a ploy to get Real to stump up what was seemingly agreed to allow the above chain of events over the weekend to take place.

Ha ha ha...just watching SSN now. This is all quite funny now.

Gareth son, the reason that you have not got your dream move yet is because RM obviously haven't offered terms deem appropriate to Tottenham Hotspur Foootball Club.

The ball is in their court!

Ahh and they have direct quotes from the player do they?
Well, I guess we wait to see if Spurs say anything on this or whether Marca was right for once and the transfer is due to be announced.

You got some statistical evidence to back that up?

Fairness..... like Real Madrid have behaved fairly this summer....

DL would be well within his rights to not sell now, these are professionals for fuck sake.

I am about to say something i never thought i would, but kudos to Wayne Rooney who may want to leave, but put in a shift yesterday, your contract is still owned by the club, we should not be bullied by Real or Bale in accepting anything less then we want for him.
