Why the f*** do the club need to make it public? If Madrid (and GB) have been told the conditions then that is sufficient. Why let every other club in the world know what is going on. The secrecy has allowed our deals to go through with an ambiguity as to how much cash we've got or are likely to have. Nobody can bitch slap Levy if he maintains that he's not selling.

I think he has played this well. The only thing he could not take accvount of is GB's reaction. Like me, he probably hoped for better. At presetnGB looks like he could have a worse attitude that the Rat Boy who was at least honest.

That's all bollocks about the cash. At this moment in time we are net flat after extra TV dough and sales. Every club already thinks Bale is a cert to go, so they will treat us that way anyway.

Clearly they haven't been strong enough with whatever terms they have set. As usual its run on into the season with no deadline or concern for the impact to the squad.

I think with each passing hour our negotiating position gets stronger & RM's weaker. Perez will cave in before DL

AVB said he would attend the training ground for "recovery work" which in the past he has been rocking up in the early afternoon.

Not that fussed anymore...we get silly money for him, already brought in quality players, squad is stronger than before.

Whatever happens happens

Back to the Utd 'bid' - I don't want to bash the ITK, but I find it hard to believe that the Glazers would possibly sanction the amount of money it would require to buy Bale, even if there wasn't a mark-up for a Premier League team. Assuming we're talking at least £80m, possibly more like £100m, would the Glazers even consider this? Their form suggests otherwise.
Hence I'm inclined to think the stories about their interests are to engineer a firm bid from Madrid that meets our valuation.

IF and its a big IF Bale has refused to train then I have lost alot of respect for him. I understand he wants his big Madrid move, but I thought better of him that he would have an ounce of common sense.
If I owned a shop and was selling a TV for £400, but customers kept offering me £300 paid in four installments, I would not sell. Its the same situation here. If Bale should have a grievance, it should be with Madrid for not valuing him as highly as we do.

Ridiculous stuff.

Yeah, but would your TV go on strike and refuse to show SkySports news because of it? :sneaky:

The clearest sign yet that he is staying is in today's Telegraph.
A photo showing GB driving a car with a 12 month tax disc, surely if he was leaving he would have opted for only 6 months?

There comes a point when enough is enough; he's ambitious, sure, but he's no different to Berbatov or Modric insofar as they all thought they could throw their weight about and get what they want.

At least Berbatov and Modric, made their intentions clear and in public. Which is more than can be said of "goody-two-shoes" Bale!

Oddly, Neville was talking about the Rooney transfer and saying that Manyoo need to hold firm and stick to the fact that they have said he is not for sale to prove that they stand by their word. Unfortunately, we have buckled every time in the past (OK, we held onto Modric for one more season...) and so everyone (Bale included) expects the same to happen here.

I just hope that Levy and AVB have been straight with him all along and can come out of this able to say we were 100% fair and honest. If there was a shady, back room agreement that we would sell him and now we are dicking him about, that is another matter.

This is the problem and why I wanted us to say not for sale at ANY PRICE and stick by it. Not, he's not for sale except for a silly offer in order to scare people off. Because once you've accepted that he could be for sale then the negotiating process has already effectively started.

Its also the reason that under no circumstances can we ever sell to a PL rival. We will always be seen as a feeder club and whipping boys of the top english clubs.

Has Bale not met Levy before?

He isn't the kind of guy who responds well to this kind of thing if true

100% nothing they do will move Levy's position an inch, he has forced players to stay before he will do it again no problem.

The only thing I would say is. We don't know what was promised to him if anything. Maybe he feels we've breached a verbal agreement.

Bottom line is we know next to nothing. So castigating the player is probably a bit premature

regardless of not knowing the reasons, he still under contract and a Spurs player.

It is not Spurs messing him around it is RM, they are the ones who filled his head with shit then couldn't back up what they was saying.

We had a price, a fair price because it is not just the player we are losing, it is all the other bits of money on the side, shirt sales etc. Like someone said earlier if you run a shop you are not going to sell a £400 TV for £300 in instalments. The world doesn't work that way.

And Bale is nothing more than a **** right now. He should be furious at RM for filling his head with dreams they can't afford.

Verbal agreements mean nothing. If he was relying on a verbal agreement then he has a poor agent.

Yeah but the poor guy might have to kick a ball around the training ground with the club that pays him £100k+ a week. How can he possibly manage with all the thoughts of Spain and broken promises on his mind?

I completely blame the club for this. Once again we have failed to make public announcements of intent and dragged our heels.

Suarez, not for sale, get on with it.

Rooney, not for sale, get.on with it.

Bale, ERM, you can leave, but we will wait until we get a proper offer, and we probably won't, so then you have to stay, but we might change our mind again....

Been here before.

Set the stall out. Real, you have 3 days to come up with the goods or the transfer is off and we are happy to keep the player. This all says to me that the ITk on no deal is in place, is correct. Because if he knew he was going in one week or two, he wouldn't be a prick.

Mind you....I've bunked off when working my notice.....

Its not often i agree with you. But cant fault your thinking here.

If the deal was done he would have breezed into training today, you would imagine.

what a gimp. finally getting his hands dirty himself and not hiding behind his agent and madrid.
