Interesting that it seems to be a more aggressive stance from Bale's camp today - after he met with Barrett yesterday.

Strategy meeting perhaps?

Starting to look like it. And its ill advised IMO.

Levy will not respond well to an aggressive manoeuvre from the Bale camp.

Think SSN are exaggerating this story, when his agent was spoke to yesterday he said he wasn't frustrated at all. I can imagine them trying to make it dramatic to bring in the viewers.

My prediction...Bale goes to Madrid on deadline day for circa £70m. Ozil and Di Maria sign for Arsenal in a double deal. Then we get a load of media reports about how angry Levy is and how we tried to get in replacements but they were too expensive or didn't want to come, how it's difficult to do deals at the last minute or how the paperwork was messed up, then we end up overpaying for some average dross in a vain attempt to keep the fans happy.

Bale, you were so close to being the player that I would talk about to my grandkids in 50 years with a glitter in my eye and the same glowing sentiment that I was told about Smith, Mackay, Blanchflower, Greaves by my Grandad and Perryman, Gasgcgoine, Mabbut by my father... But *if* this reported approach to getting a transfer is all true then despite your undoubted talent, you wont be regarded as a legend by me. Ahhh Gareth what could have been....

Bale may well be a deadline day deal, but I really can`t see us ending up with average dross, considering what we`ve signed so far.

The way I`ve read it, sounds more like we have told Bale to say his goodbyes and stay away rather than Bale refusing to come back.

So Bale is not turning up to training, is in a huff due to not being aloud to go and apparently is getting ready to come out to the press yet he is still not prepared to put in a transfer request... How much of this is true i dont know, as ITK suggests i would expect him to have been aloud to miss training and i doubt he would say anything to the press. But he clearly is desperate to leave but not desperate enough to put in a transfer request and negate his loyalty bonus etc.

The best thing about all this (apart from it being more bullshit) is that if Bale did go to press it would probably cost him a lot of money in lost sponsorship as it will tar his character and lead to us hardening our stance meaning that he will stay.
I think its already been tarnished, what with signing a deal with BT to be the face of their EPL programme and to then leave for Spain that same season... He must have given some guarantees about actually BEING a player in the league. Now he appears to be acting the twat which will be fans in the UK final memory of him as opposed to his football. Real Madrid may be some peoples choice as best team in the world but for me they act like what they really are classless chelsea clones with their billy big bollox attitude so he will fit in well there and good riddance. Us fans are the ones that get hurt the most with the realisation that with all the money there is in the game now that they are ALL the same. They have no allegiance to our clubs at all any more so I have no allegiance to players anymore as I once did now it is purely all about THFC for me and the players are simply the component parts within it that come and go. Might just get THFC printed on the back of my shirt from now on. With all these ridiculous transfer fees now maybe the way forwards are to get rid of transfer fees entirely and also long player contracts and "loyalty" bonuses because these are worthless anyway. Short 2 year contracts, players contracts cannot be bought, when they are out of contract negotiations can begin with clubs with say their parent club being allowed first crack then they can either accept it or listen to offers and then at the same time restrict the number of transfers in that a club can make with in a window or season to something like 5. Might work? might not... but something else really needs to be tried imo. Once a player gets to say 27 or 28 then a club could be allowed to offer a longer contract as their final one thus then tying him to that club for the remainder of his career. You might then get the scenario where some players might then wish to return to their "boyhood clubs" or favourite team etc... Just some musings by me sorry to spoil the thread...

Ive been optimistic most of the time regarding Bale staying, but I am now resigned to losing him.
There's too many signs out there suggesting that a deal is in place and its just a waiting game for it to be announced.
Its the only reason for Bale to keep quiet, not much more he can do at the moment. So I aint gonna give him a hard time about it.

Obviously it is agony for us fans because we dont know what really is going on. But I think THFC has handled this whole saga pretty good. Its the media and RM who are putting a bad light on the player and making us think Bale is the bad boy, but I havent heard him actually come out and say one single negative thing.

I think the last time I felt this sad about a player leaving was when I watched Gazzas last Spurs game at Wembley in 1991.

So here is my (contradicting) message of the day:

I wish Gareth Bale all the best and lots of success, and hope that Real Madrid CF wins sweet FA und go bankrupt. COYS!

(Edit: Go bankrupt after they have paid us of course ;))

Well, we might want to hold off on RM going bust until they have paid for Bale and Modric in full ;)

I desperately want us to pull the plug on the deal. Send the biggest fuck you to Zidane, Marca, Madrid and Bale.

We're in charge. End of.
