I'm surprised about the bitterness to be honest. He worked his socks off for Spurs and we were playing our best football in 20 odd years. We got a world record fee which hopefully some goes towards our new stadium. Bale always said he wanted to play abroad, even before he joined Spurs. He never claimed to be a Spurs fan but always put in a shift for us. We've managed to buy 5-6 players on his fee alone. Hopefully we can go onto be a better team without him, we relied on him way too much last season

Its not the fact he has gone it is how he went about it

Faking injury, refusing to attend training, effectively going on strike to force a move, first one is not proven 100% but Levy's words about his behaviour were very telling

If he had been professional like Rooney or Suarez i would have wished him well but he behaved like a spoilt child who's mum would not buy him an ice cream

Great achievements on the pitch but elevated to the 2nd biggest **** after Campbell off it imho along with Berbatov

Suarez had interviews in Uruguay and then in the UK to the Guardian behind Liverpool's back about how much he wanted to leave- and also played like he didn't care in preseason

That is the lowest of the low and while I am not condoning Bale's actions, saying Suarez was professional is absolute bullshit- he was far worse than Bale

No one could say he didn't play his heart out to try and get us to the CL even if deep down he knew he would be off regardless. Hopefully that will be the last of the Bale quotes about what happened this Summer and we can all move on with our lives.

Good luck to him BUT... Think he's wrong to say that the Spanish league is the best in the world. It quite clearly isn't. We all knock English football but honestly think our league is by far the best in terms do excitement and the atmosphere at our grounds. Apart from 3/4 clubs in Spain the atmosphere is shit. Even Ronaldo has come out and said this. I'm sure One of the reason Mourinhio has come back is for that reason also.

Also Madrid compared to London as a city is shit. London is the best city in the world and Mardid is shit hole in comparison. Granted he will obviously be living in the best part but as a city it has no where near what London can offer.

My gut feeling is he will be back here within 2 years along with Ronaldo who will be back next year. Unfortunately i don't think he will be coming back to us.

It's like checking your ex's facebook page. DON'T DO IT EVER. Okay, maybe the one time on a boring Friday night, possibly a Saturday.

It's nice to check an ex's FB and see that she's now going through a horrible soul-destroying separation with the guy she left you for...

Although actually I harbour no such malice. I just wanted to post on page 666 of the Gareth Bale thread. Number of the beast and all that. Actually that would be more appropriate for Sandro, come to think of it.

The refusing training was silly and I'm sure he regrets it (I hope) . I'm sure his injury is genuine as he's still not even playing for Wales either.

We knew it wasn't going to last forever, we got a fantastic fee and hopefully helps with the future of the club. No one can compare Campbell with Bale, I don't think anyone even realises how many years that Campbell money set us back. Bale if anything may have made us a lot stronger.

Suarez has slagged Liverpool off to the press in South America after they backed him up constantly, and Rooney has put in a transfer request to bump up his wage packet. Bale has a lot more class than both of them put together.

I wish him well at Madrid, because the fans are already expecting a lot of great things

This might be an unpopular opinion, and I love watching Bale play but seeing as he is going to go next year regardless of what happens why don't we sell him to the highest bidder when his stock is at its highest? We could actually rebuild the team with the money we get. :)

You win at the internetz :)

It certainly beats the experience of a friend of mine. He made the mistake of marrying a lawyer in a fit of ill-thought out or imagined love...a few months later (literally) the divorce duly came, along with 90% of everything he ever earned or will earn going to her. Saw her FB a while back, showing off her new high-floor apartment in Manhattan, paid for by her liquidation of the company my mate worked so hard to get up and successful, which went to her in the settlement.

So we can count ourselves lucky. Oh good luck Bale, to stay on topic.

If you got a lot of money, get a pre-nup, whether male or female.

Bale continuing the injury charade whilst on international duty, he's injured his arse, his foot and his bollocks already this season having not played a single competitive game or trained properly.
