Who can afford him? PSG are in the shit. City aren't even being considered. The gooners would never spend that much. Liverpool are spending elsewhere. United have spunked too much over the past couple of years so they'd struggle too. Bayern don't buy players that cost as much as Bale would.

Hazard to Madrid. That's the key to this. Hazard to Madrid, Bale to Chelsea :D

I absolutely can't see it happening but fuck it, honestly, just how many clubs could seriously contemplate signing him? Not many at all.
There, that should set the cat amongst the SC pigeons :playful:

Personally, I think that over the next few days Ronaldo will announce he's off and Bale will stay at Madrid to be top dog.
So...we're signing Ronaldo?

On Tuesday, the British newspaper Independent claims that Pochettino's Tottenham has joined the bid for the Cardiff end.

This operation would include a salary cut for Bale , who would continue to charge 11 million net of the club, but that should renounce the income received by other commercial deals related to Madrid (the Independent says that these exceed 14 million annually). This contractual data would be very similar to what is currently charged by the Tottenham flagship player, Harry Kane , so Bale would not be the highest paid player in the London team . Of course, Tottenham is confident that despite these salary cuts, the desire of the Welshman to play all the minutes he does not have in Madrid and to return to the team in which he exploded as a player would be enough to convince the Welshman.

So they're pretty much saying what us, apparently clueless people, have been saying for the last week. Any salary shortfall on our behalf could be compensated via letting him retain his image rights.

Boo to the naysayers.

You know it's funny, because whilst it is HIGHLY unlikely that we re-sign Bale, you don't actually know anything....unless you want to claim this to be ITK?

So the point would be that you saying this is not really any different to someone saying "Bale is definitely going to come back". It's equally pretty ludicrous because none of us know anything at this stage.

However, last time I checked this is an internet forum and this section of it is where we discuss possible transfers. The reality is that we are being linked with Bale so it's therefore open for discussion. If it gets you so upset to see our fans talking about Bale possibly coming back then maybe just avoid this particular thread altogether and save yourself the stress.

Just a thought.

Christ. Talk about an overreaction.

The only club that could do it, and they did it for James Rodriguez, is Bayern. Other than that ...

As for Bale becoming top dog at Real - a wild Neymar appeared!

Okay lads, this thread has been bloody good fun so far. Let's not ruin it by getting grumpy with each other.

Meh, leave 'em to it

he should have been high as a kite in that interview and instead he complained about his role at Real. He's either leaving or angling for a raise.

Suit Bale down to the ground I would have thought.

Everyone wins!
See now if you're opening up a loan as a possibility, you're talking Levy's language :D

I'm torn. No, not as a result of me trying to ease an extra large garden vegetable up my bum, but on wether or not we might sign him. I want to say "I believe" but I'm scared to upset anyone

I'd never open up a loan as a possibility ... That takes us into another rabbit hole that some people here, right now, may never come back out of.

How would a loan work in terms of image rights etc? Part of the pipe dream of buying him would be to give him more of the revenue share than Madrid do to close the wage gap. Do you renegotiate image rights as part of the loan agreement? I guess you would but if not then you’re looking at asking Madrid to keep paying him some of the wages.

Questions I’d like to explore as I think the loan (with option to buy of course!) is a potentially interesting angle that A&C floats. It could work with the various chess pieces of big player moves. Unless of course he’s playing with us as part of a cruel, ongoing social experiment...
