Sums up the pathetic attitudes of England footballers. Although it rather blew Kane out playing a tournament after his breakout season two summers ago I loved that he wanted to help his country.

It's funny, two years ago there wasn't a day that went by without the press banging on about how Kane had to go to the u21 Euros whilst they pretended to give a shit about the development of England youth teams. This year the FA quietly announce Rashford didn't have to go but there wasn't a peep from the press.

And Kane played way more football that season than Rashford did the one just gone.

Does anyone rate Patrick Roberts here? I know some youth watchers wanted him to sign for us when he was at Fulham. With all the players that City are stacking up and talk of Pep wanting to sell Roberts, I wonder if we should look to him as an option.

Absolutely right, they really were forcing the Kane needs to play in that tournament. That he was young and all this talk of fatigue/burnout was rubbish.

That win was pretty grim. The only time England strung three passes together was after Slovakia scored and then sat back, once England got their equaliser, they were pushed back into bus park mode again and hitting the mighty Slovaks on the break, which is how they got their winner.

This really isn't the ethos you want to be instilling into your kids is it ? Most of the football was abysmal.
