"David Moyes took a whistle stop tour to France on Saturday night to check on Lille's £10million-rated striker Gervinho.

The Everton manager is desperate to bolster his strikeforce during the summer and has already put plans in place to move for Shane Long, should Reading fail to win promotion.

Gervinho, who has indicated he wants to play Champions League football next season, was also watched by Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp."

Would we want him?

Personally i think he could be a good signing for us. He wants CL but i doubt any of the CL teams in England will be interested.

He's difficult to class but if it's between "winger" and "striker" then he's more of a striker. Seems suited to a central striking role anyway.

I'd be happy with him but I was more hoping he was there to look at Hazard...

p.s I'm pretty sure he's a striker

Cheers.

Haven't seen much of Gervinho apart from the World Cup. 25 goals in 54 apps for Lille isn't too bad.

Even in the game against PSG at the weekend he played AML/AMC/AMR and as the main striker late on - he won a penalty when he raced onto a through ball and got taken down by the keeper.

Absolutely HUGE forehead, this guy.

One might even call it a five-head.

Hazard may be a bit football manager but if we're looking at the likes of Marin/Young, i'd hope Hazard is on the radar too. Not seen much of him myself but i've heard good things.

He's a good player, great on the ball, he is more like a striker who likes to drift, not bad in the air, but he is more about taking people on and what not, he is a handfull thats for sure

Despite his high hairline making me feel kinda sick, I've really come round to us getting Gervinho. He's a bargain at 10m odd with his contract running down, he's only 23 years old, quick, very strong, good at dribbling, and his shooting has improved over the past couple of years.

Whats more, is he is adaptable, and could play out wide on either wing in a 4-3-3, or through the middle. I think he's built for the Prem and could take it by storm.

I'd be very happy if we got Adebayor AND Gervinho to bolster our frontline and wings, and to make us much more physically stronger.

Pacey, tricky WM/striker who could well be a hit in the EPL. Problem is...the ANC next year etc...
