Nah we'll sing, "One Gervinho, there's only one Gervinho. One Ger-vin-ho, there's only one Gervinho."

The french correspondent on the Guardian's Football Weekly was saying that he's been the real force behind them this year....more so than Hazard or Sow (although he did have high praise for the former)

Spot on.

I think if we had Gervinho he would completely transform our attack. I don't watch any French football as it doesn't come on here, but for some strange reason espn showed the cup final and I think that his pace and strength is something we've severely lacked up front for a long time, he's lightning quick and think he'd be a perfect outlet for us when we're under a bit of pressure. Also he seems to have decent skill and close control so I don't think he'd be useless against the teams that like to sit deep.

I'm not saying he'd be the only player we should be bringing in up top but I'd be very happy if we managed to sign him.

As for Hazard, he's already got massive hype behind him. He's more likely to go to a CL club unfortunately.

Can't believe guys don't want Gervinho, powerful, strong, very quick, tricky, can play different positions and can score goals.

What's not to like?
He is a better player than Solomon Kalou or even Malouda, definitely the type of player we should be buying.

I would be disappointed if we end up with a striker like Sow.

Seems like he is open to the possibility of joining us, he didn't flat out deny us.... Think this one could run....

Out of curiosity, why don't more non-Brazilians give themselves Brazilian nicknames, just for the craic? Crouchinho and Defoenaldo might still be terrible but at least they'd have comedy value.

I've liked the look of Gervinho for awhile, everytime I've seen him I've wondered why he hasn't been snapped up out the French league yet

creative, quick, strong on the ball and versitile with an eye for goal

Youtube makes him look like Eto'o in style. I cannot comment though as I've not seen him more than once or twice.

Gervinho - Spurs talk can wait

In-demand Lille playmaker Gervinho will only discuss his future at the end of the 2010/11 campaign.

The Ivory Coast international is hot property at the moment, with a number of clubs from across Europe monitoring his situation in France.
Numerous Premier League sides are believed to among that list of suitors, with Gervinho admitting he would relish the opportunity to turn out in England.

Tottenham are understood to be towards the front of the queue, with Harry Redknapp having been in attendance for Lille's recent French Cup success.

Gervinho is aware of the mounting speculation linking him with a move to Spurs, but insists his sole focus at present is on landing the Ligue 1 title.

"I have read in the French press and been told by a friend in London that Harry has been to watch me," he said.

"But, to be honest, I am only thinking about winning the French league at the moment.

"The transfer talk can wait until the end of the season."

Gervinho just blasted over from a couple of yards out v Sochaux.

Good word from Eden Hazard earlier set him up and he hit the post.

And he hit the post again! Don't know how this is still 0-0. Lille are all over them!
