we could try loaning someone as third choice, cudicini's unlikely to get injured too while gomes is out so we don't need someone permanently....

And kendall I love your John Sitton quote, absolutely genius

"You can pair up if you like, and you can bring someone else to help you out, and you can bring your fucking dinner"

brilliant.

I'd love to say it to someone one day

if you look at the highlights you can actually see the physio mouth "he's done his groin" but if the website has refuted this then hey ho.

As much as I like Carlo, I still feel more confident with Gomes in goal. I wonder if Gomes doesn't warm up enough. His groin shouldn't 'go' because he jumped for a ball! Hopefully it is just a strain and he will be back soon.

It was probably his exceptionally loose kick that he booted a couple of minutes before.

Sorry to those James fans on here but to me he is a risk not worth taking - he has and continues to make errors of judgement that we can not afford - Cudicini is our best option as he will already know our defenders' game and he is a great keeper in his own right. I think Harry will either give Jansson some bench time or recall Alnwick.

Speaking of Gomes, i haven't seen his biggest fan DC Boy on here for aaaaaaaaages.
His 2nd then
OK, it was about his 4th appearence. He didn't look good against Hull and Stoke last season. Although i admit those 2 are a threat for most teams at set pieces. I would worry with him in goal for more than just a few games. Hopefully Gomes will be back soon though. But i'll hold my hands up and say Cudicini hasn't played many games, so it could just be a bit of rust as it were.

he played last season with that injury didn't he?

well yeah cudcini should cover fine but you never know in football...to be honest whats the point of having Alnwick and Janssen if we aren't ready to use them if this happens?

I hope Gomes is back ASAP, Cudicini is ok but Gomes is like our Schmeichel

Oscar Jansson is the best keeper we've had at Spurs since Pat Jennings, so I'm not worried.

Well, someone had to say it.

Is he any good though seriously as saw him against Orient during last summer's pre-season but he didn't really get much of a test.

Didn't see a problem in Cudicini's performance against Stoke. The only one where he was a bit awkward in was Bolton for me, which was his 2nd game for us...Stoke being the first.

When you consider the Gomes howlers of last season, the gaff against Liverpool and the wank punch last night, you can hardly write of Cudicini as being an able back up.

I certainly prefer him to James at present.

The whole point in having Cudicini is to cover for Gomes in case of injury, etc.

That is what he will be doing.

So why go out and buy more keepers? That's just silly.

What about the Hull game, and Gomes was very good against Stoke- neutralised Delap. Cudicini is an able replacement and we don't need to sign anyone but he is not in Gomes' class.

What about the Hull game?

Delap who scored in that game?

The same game Gomes knocked out his centre back leaping for balls he had no right to go for?

Nobody is saying he is as good as Gomes, but he is a more than able replacement for us not to go out and sign another keeper and look to sell him in January - that is lunacy.
