Now that KK has officially resigned and Wise is the fav for the job, do you think our Gus will be off to be his number 2...???

I certainly hope not.

see i think being number 2 for juande ramos is a better learning process for him and maybe if spurs do well over the next couple of years he will get offered a op managers job just like carlos quieroz did. i really hope he stays because he seems to be very popular with our players and the last thing we need is more change in the backroom staff. one day long into the future he may be our manager.

...and it's our own fault. The board were prepared to sell Owen (to us) and Barton (to Portsmouth to replace Spurs bound Diarra). From what the have been saying on the radio the fact that the board were prepared to sell those two without his knowledge was the final straw.

Of course, Newcastle are a complete mess and he may want to steer well clear of it.

He'd have to be a madman to become the Chief of that lot. They're a complete circus.

According to Skybet, Gus is now the 5/2 favourite. Personally, I think it's vital that Gus stays. If he goes, then I can't see any chance of us finishing in the top 4. It's not just that he's our assistant coach and a basic communicator between the team and Ramos, but that I always imagine Gus is the one who can really motivate the players. In Jol we lost a big character and I think the leadership of a club needs that type of person, so if it isn't the manager himself, then I think there must be someone there who the players can relate to.

I fear that Gus will go, being a manager of a premier league club, even if it is Newcastle, has got to be too good an opportunity for him to turn down.

Btw, I actually think the Spanish guy they have working for them is a big asset. I think Newcastle will do alright this season.

I dont think Gus would leave to take the same position at a different club. For one, he has a connection to the club as an ex-player, and secondly he has a big role for a number 2, doing press conferences, being the man who hands in the team sheet, etc.

The rumour is that he will be be made Head Coach of Newcastle by Wise and Jimenez his two friends.

I really really hope Gus will stay with us. And can't really see why he would like to go into the continuous mess called Newcastle?!?

the bookies price is based on the fact Poyet and Wise worked together at Swindon and Leeds, but Wise has a totally different role now and is based in London.

Looking at how many Deportivo players came in or were linked with Newcastle I wouldn't be surprised to see Lotina come in, or even the ex-Deportivo boss Irueta

Danny Kelly on TALKSPORT has just said he has spoken to his various contacts inside the club, and the message coming out is "Under No Circumstances Does Gus Want To Leave Spurs"

He'd be a loon to go. He aint a loon

I heart Gus
