Big, big summer ahead. We need the new manager in place early so they have a say on where the Kane money goes.
And then every selling club will know we've got cash and bump their prices up.
I'm not particularly looking forward to this ride.

If Kane leaves, life will go on. What we mustnt do is lose Son as well.

I really belives Kane will not have the same influence at another club, they will expect more than he can offer and he will not play every game which I feel is detrimental to hes good performances and fitness . I believe he will find it difficult at most top clubs with competitive front lines.

this is the right time to sell him, when he's on a long contract and still got plenty of years ahead. i'm sad that even when we get someone as influential and good as Kane from the academy it isn't enough that we have been able to raise our level high enough that he wants to stay at age 27. the distance to the top looks far from here (to me it does).

mourihno was a total fail for us, and although I thought it could've worked with him, many on here predicted exactly what's happened. it was a critical apponitment for Kane's situation, and I also don't really blame him if he wants to leave now. city are looking for a replacement for Aguero, and Kane would be a good fit (i know this isn't what any of us want, but I'm not sure our views will shape his destination)

i do hope we can get an exciting manager who knows a few good young players they can bring in to add to those already in our academy, as new careers are the most fun thing in football (except maybe winning the league, but I wouldn't know)

I'm clutching at straws here but maybe this is Kane saying to Levy "this is it now, you need to spend 150m in the summer or it's game over"

I know that you are being whimsical but with the loan being deferred, we aren't going to be spending much at all without significant incoming funds from outgoing players.

If he goes, he goes. I can deal with it. What I can't deal with (well I can but don't want to) is that money being spaffed away in a scattergram way. It has to be spent by a credible director of football who has a defined style. We need about 5 players who are first-team-ready.

Our net spend over the last 2 seasons has been very high.

Reports seem to suggest that Kane was on board with Jose and saw him as our chance to compete for major honours. It didn;t work out at all so I can understand if Kane thinks now is the time to look into moving on.

But this lazy narrative about it being about us not spending has to stop. Over the last 2 seasons we have spent big, hired a big name manager and tried to move on another. This has all failed. The amount we spend really isn't the issue.

Everybody talks about Harry going because he deserves trophies. Firstly, through his poor performances in a number of big games he has contributed to that. Secondly, as Spurs fans we should be more concerned that Spurs are able to get the price they require for their major asset. Anything less represents a major blow to the club finances at a time when we already have financial problems. City, Chelsea and United have the funds and they should be prepared to pay the necessary price. Otherwise we should not sell. If what Sky are saying is true, which of course is very doubtful, then Harry is acting more like a spoilt child than ‘one of our own’. If he is pressing for a sale before the Euros and saying we should accept any offer that is sad.

Agreed. To City would be the perfect replacement (and upgrade) to Aguero. Winning 2 to 3 premier league titles and potentially a few champions leagues, working with the best manager in the world and a relatively young world class team. Fair enough and I wish him well. He has been brilliant for us and Jose was to be our step up into the big leagues. It didnt work out and now its a period of transition for Spurs. Kane is at the peak of his career and wants a few medals. Its time to part ways.

If Daniel can get around 150 million for that I would say well done - and maybe some squad players thrown in.

I am hoping that if City put up that kind of money then they'll look to Haaland first. They generally buy younger players than Kane but for his quality they might make an exception.

Why do some people denigrate Kane every time he's linked with a move away because he wants to win trophies? Sure he's had poor games but he's had many superb games and he's scored a shit load of goals. He's not a fan first and foremost, he's a professional footballer. He does his job very well the majority of the time and he wants to have something to show for his career. The reality is that we are looking at a new era at the club and the big trophies are not something that we're likely to see in the short term. For me, it's not spoilt or petulant to want to have a chance of winning medals. I'm a fan and you're a fan. We would stay at Spurs whatever happened but he's a professional with a different mindset.

On the positive side, Jim White's show is written for him.

Hiya, I'm not one of the people saying we're not spending - in the last two years we've spent about 60m on left backs alone. I do think we need to spend better, but that's a separate issue.

However, we don't know what the players' perception is

4-5 years of world class front line firepower in a team that values movement and technique over athleticism (although it is given its appropriate due). A perfect fit for a striker that can play in multiple positions in forward areas. 150 million is a pittance for the returns it will guarantee.

City's most expensive player is about 75 million euros. Haaland would be a gamble. Kane guaranteed return with enough bench strength to keep him fresh and firing.

It's true that we don't know the player's perception. All we can do is try to piece things together the best we can.

It seems pretty clear that Kane wants to compete for and win major honours.

It also appears he was very much on board with Jose. Jose felt a number of our players are not of the right attitude. Kane is clearly very dedicated to football and surely wants to be surrounded by people with the same determination to win. I feel who we can sell is almost as important as our purchases this summer.

What it will take to convince Kane we can achieve at the top is anyone's guess. Sadly a big name manager and a high net spend is not going to achieve this.

I agree that Kane would be a great signing for them and i think he'd fit right in.

But I don't see Haaland as much of a gamble. His quality and performances is clear for all to see.

I totally agree with everything you've said here. Levy must keep Son. Also let's be honest here, we've reached 2 finals in the last 3 seasons, Kane's played in both and contributed nothing, so it's not like he's not had opportunities. His preference is to remain in the Premier League......only because none of the european big boys are interested. Chelsea or Man Utd.......not a big step up really, they're just as average as we are.
