The important thing now is not to think “ok so next summer we may have issues” but to try an fix the issues now. Scouting, searching, doing all we can to find the person who will be replacing him if he goes next summer. We often wait to long and we can’t afford to do that here.
Forget next summer; this has to be fixed before January. Kane says he staying at Spurs "this summer". He doesn't say anything about where he will be come January.

wow if we manage to keep Kane then that's the best biz we could have done this summer
100%.

I can't see how we could have come close to replacing his goals/assists.

We may (probably likely) won't make top 4, but at least we have a season to sort out a possible replacement.

However, if we lost him, we would be no chance at top 4 imo.

No big big deals happen in January. I highly doubt he'll leave in the middle of the season.

Let's be honest, nobody will replace his output like for like. Very few players could do that. Any striker coming in has his boots to fill after he leaves. It's not going to be easy. It'll have to be multiple players to get anywhere near those numbers.

Really. We kept a player that clearly wants off. I’d rather have got the cash and had the rebuild - that we still need.

Yeah I get where you are coming from; my mind says yes and my heart says no too (my brain thinks it's a good thing he stayed, my heart agrees with you).

However if we look at this 'pragmatically' (or short-termism) then at least this season we have a decent shot at Europe football, and we can wait for this circus to return next year.

Totally agree, but at least this gives us a bit more time.

Harry will still perform while he is with us.

Would have always rather have kept Kane as do I believe it's better to know what you have than hope for what you might get.

It’s good but the best business we can do this summer is address the weakness in defence and midfield, while securing a back up for Kane that doesn’t involve running Son into the ground

That would be above what I expect at Spurs tbh. Midfield was meant to have been addressed by Tanguy + GLC (which didnt happen) so yes I'm with you on this..just dont think it can happen.

I am a generational Spurs fan on my Dads side...I had and would have never had a choice. Both my kids ARE Spurs fans.

We didn’t grow up with the game, I only support Spurs because my father’s mate (North London bred, his father drove a cab) gave him a Spurs shirt back in the 90s (93-95 home). Having never heard of the club before, they were good enough for me. I lucked out. My children will bear the same fate as all of us.

My brother wanted to get into football, watches a ton of rugby. We tried out Leeds for him last year since they were attacking and we had Mourinho but it didn’t take. I realized my mistake and we’re doing it right this time!
