I'd take a gamble on him, probably set the club back around 3 mill. On his day he was the best left winger around and so many players have left a club after an injury ravedge time and gone on to play top football.

Pires, Overmars, Dawson, Ronaldo just to name a few, they've all had very bad injuries but came back with flying colours.

Absolutely not. Good in his day but our days of employing has beens are long gone.

Totally agree. Signing Kewell would smack of the old days when we signed the likes of Leonhardsen, Ziege and Redknapp. ie players who aren't good enough for the good teams so get shipped out elsewhere.

Kewell used to be good but hasn't been for a while. I'd rather see us go for Malouda if he's available than go for the player Liverpool deem not good enough to oust Bolo Zenden from the team.

Kewell is a great player when injury free. The problem is he is not injury free very often. I'd wouldn't mind if we got him though.

Would be extremely dissappointed if our club were stupid enough to sign Kewell. He is an injury prone, over rated, whinging, diving, bottling cock.

So you won’t be getting his name on your shirt then?

Looks like the rumours are Bolton are ahead of Villa in the pecking order for him now.

The Express say Jol is ready to offer 3m for kewell. If and this is a very big if he stays relativly injury free it could be a good move

I still remember when EVERY top club wanted him when he was at leeds. If he could recapture his leeds form he would do very well here

there are too many if's surrounding Kewell now, not a worthwhile signing IMO.

We'd be better off signing a young, raw talent for £3million than signing Kewell (i've no names of who, Barnes would be more than that price now).

At least with a young player, if he fails/it doesn't work out for him, we recoup most of the transfer fee back.

With Kewell, we'd make nearly nothing back, plus he'll have taken a lot off us with his £40,000+ a week wages (he might even want more than that!)

If its hitting close of the transfer window and we still didn't have a left winger, then yes I would have him.

There are plenty of better options than him, and plenty of time to get them.

Everyone seems to forget that he was a key player for Australia in the World Cup just last summer.

The reports here in Australia are that he will head to Spurs.

I think Jol will wait it out and see how he performs at the Asian Cup over the coming months. Sign a first option deal with Liverpool contingent on him getting through the Asian Cup.

That way if he stays fit and plays well we've got a steal at 3 mill. If he falls apart again, which I personally don't think will happen, we get out without any egg on our face!

Fucking oath!

Finally someone with some sense in this thread...

3m for someone who could be the best thing since Ginola on that left wing, we are loaded anyway, why not take a chance?

I'd be happy to take on Kewell, but only if we bought someone else as well. I wouldn't want to put all our eggs in his basket.
