In a way I'm relieved he's gone. Not maliciously, just that I think Tottenham need the change

Too true the sooner we get back to mid-table finishes the better.............iv'e read some strange stuff on here over the years but "Tottenham need a change" has to be up in the top two. Messi coming to sign for Spurs came top by the way.

Well I cant say i am surprsied by this eventuality. Harry in my opinion has done a fantastic job for us but I am sure he was only ever meant as a stop gap to get us out of strife. He did however do way better than anyone antiscipated which was comendable.

I think that he has been far to sure of himself and his lies and bullshit got him into trouble, and i dont blame D. Levy for not bowing to Harrys demands. I am sure the club will be dragged through the mire by Harrys media friends, i mean if Harry seriously thought he deserved a pay rise and extended contract and i am sure would have expected the club to secure large sums of money to his hands regarding transfers then he must be kidding.

Levy has the best interests of this club, Harry Rednapp although he was passionate was only ever looking after number one, which all honesty is fair enough but then dont expect such loyalty back.

And Levy i would imagine is now looking for a manager that can take us forward with the future in mind, we have a new stadium on the horizon, a great squad and a brand new training facilities. We are certainly a good catch now for a lot of top managers.

We shouldnt settle for a Martinez who with no disrespect hasnt done nearly enough to take on a job of this magnitude, we are now a top 4/5 club, we need to think that way. There are a lot of managers out there with proven credentials, they will all cause plenty of discussion but i trust Levy in making the correct decision for the club.

The end of a great era and exciting 4 years and the start of hopefully a great new era which will see us take the next step and start backing it up with silver ware.

Levy and the board were the ones who brought us Champions league football, by appointing Redknapp. A risky, yet calculated move. Trust that they have made another progressive step with a further risky, yet calculated move.

They need the change because he wasn't good enough. He never was, and never has been. His arm around the shoulder approach was what the club needed at the time he came. What we need now is a different more efficient approach. That's not an insult to him. Just his level. That he was considered for England shows just how bad a bunch English managers are.

LOL...read what you wrote. And think about it. If David Moyes had Gareth Bale, Luka Modric and VdV, I'm sure he'd had won that qualifier. We nearly fucking lost to YOUNG BOYS! Who saved us? Bassong and Pav!!!!!!! Harry always sought to lighten the load, thus we didn't really go for the Uefa or CC, even though he didn't actually win anything! Look, I appreciate what he did, but I don't appreciate what he didn't do i.e, keep his fuming focus the last two half-seasons, and didn't appreciate the way he continually fucking protected himself over and over and over-a-fucking-GAIN without EVER coping to ANYTHING!!! And then he tried to insult our intelligence by saying "players need to know the manager's there long term" when he swore in April players didn't give a fuck about that sort of thing, AND ignoring the fact he'd fucking dump us in a heartbeat for a slag with crotchless knickers and a big slab of wedge!!! Come on, he tried it last summer with the whole middle eastern offer (leverage for a pay-rise)...he has himself to blame as much as anybody, but being Harry it will never ever happen! Even this! He could've just taken the year, sworn to do enough to get a three-year extension, put his head done and fucking MADE THINGS HAPPEN...but he knows...he's no dummy...it suits everyone, but Harry won't be gracious, not in his nature...he hates to unpopular.
Bassong and pav were also 2 of the main culprits of why we were 3-0 down so they didn't save us at all

If being a manager in the prmier league is indexed based on a number of different stats incl. money spent, moyes must be top 5 right now.

Sad day. I have been a Harry fan. I am most worried about what kind of players Spurs will sign. To get the right people in the purchase department is more important than getting in a name.

I think now is the right time to try to implement a longer-term strategy. This is something Redknapp was not buying into. If Woy loses his job or walks after the Euros, then what?

No. Levy made the right decision for me.

So we started the deadwood clearance by getting rid of the biggest piece. He is like a magnet for deadwood.

Like Levy gets this?

Since April 2001 Spurs have employed nine Managers (including caretakers). if your looking for "long-term strategy" i'd guess you'd be better off looking somewhere else my friend.

After Graham it went:

Pleat
Hoddle
Pleat
Santini
Jol
Ramos
Allen / Inglethorpe
Redknapp

Some fooking empire building there.

???
Were they? Well if that is the case (as opposed to the manager shoving out an under-strength side against a team he'd probably done little homework on) then thank God they had the fortitude to make up for their shite performances and conjure goals when we most needed them...

The most important thing is to get in a player who have a good sense of what a good team is.
The interview should be as follows:
Question 1: If you had £30 mill to spend, what kind of players would you bring in?
Question 2: What is your so called "dream team" in world football?
Question 3: Do you have a lot of scouting contacts?

We need a manager who can attract good players, but also the right players. We want to buy mainly foreign players, which are exciting. We want an exciting team - Not a Liverpool team.

from the latest ITK it seems clear dl would have kept harry but just not on the new contract he was demanding so redknapp has to take some responsibility.

It was the case bassong was an absolute liability and pavs touch was so bad it was a joke. Under strength team or utilising the squad? Seems its impossible to win whatever the manager does.

In the end, it is all about having exciting Spurs players. If we have that, we can have an unknown manager. I liked Harry, because he many times signed players that I wanted.

He has been our best manager in my lifetime, but he's also had our best squad by comparison to the rest of the league. Maybe the squad was as good as it was, however, because of the strides certain players made under HHS guidance (Kaboul, Modric, Bale, Ekotto, Walker). Part of me thinks that the time was right for him to go and that the poor form and his ridiculous mouth justify this decision, and part of me is shit scared that we won't be able to upgrade so, regardless of contract issues, this decision will prove misguided.

Then I come back to my mantra: In Levy I Trust.

It's clear we haven't sacked him, Levy has refused to bow to Harry's contract demands. Big difference and I think totally understandable

As soon as he hired Stretford you could tell this would end in tears. He was in no position to bust Levy's balls

Cheers Redknapp for some fantastic football and three of the most exciting seasons of my Spurs-supporting life, but you never learnt to shut up

Erm... Right. So who now? AVB has a very Levy air to him...

Agree 100%.

I'm looking forward to seeing who we get as I think we need to look to the long term. Redknapp was never long term. If it's Martinez though, I fear it may end in tears, he is another manager next to Redknapp that doesn't learn from his mistakes.

For me, the most important is the player signings. If we get the right players in, the manager's name can be Chris Kamara.
