Apparently getting shit in the Spanish media for being bored and entertaining himself in the stands. He seems done at Real. It's quite amusing though.

They denied him a move to China so now he's decided that he's going to take every penny of his Madrid contract. At first Perez was demanding Zidane played him but since Zidane returned and the fiasco last summer Zidane won out and told him to find a new club but Bale is only interested in getting his money now as it's highly unlikely he'll get the same salary elsewhere.

Such a shame, as I believe had Zidane decided to put faith in him he'd have done a decent job of replacing Ronaldo but for some reason Zidane just doesn't like him.

He's effectively wasted the last few years of his career when he could still have been one of the world's best attackers.

According to his agent - who may well be telling porkies - its not about the money. Last para of the article also talks about the China nove falling through.

Zidane obviously can't tolerate people who won't embrace their baldness.

Don’t really blame him for wanting to fuck them over, the club and fans have treated him like shit.

Could be.

I think it was a matter of principal on Bale's half. He could quite easily have taken a pay cut and plenty of clubs would have been interested but I think he's seen Madrud trying to bin him off and get him to accept a lower salary elsewhere to which he's basically said "Stuff that you're paying me for what I'm entitled to."

I hope he doesnt regret it

True but I think the best way would have been to move on and play football elsewhere and show them what they are missing. Not China obviously

Seems like a weird way to see out the best years of your playing career though.

I know he’s raking in a fortune, but he has a one in a million gift which will have deserted him 3-4 years max.

Yeah, going to China would have been a massive waste of his talent. Its a shame he’s just wasting away what should be the best years of his career, he’d make a difference to pretty much any team in Europe.

He's not doing too bad for himself is he? Getting paid loads not to play and still picking up a league winners medal.

Never seen a player be so content with picking up a check, being a bit part player while simultaneously trolling the fans and winning everything imaginable. A glorified Jack Rodwell if you will.

He has won everything already so why not just pick up the paycheck.

He will return to England at some point but 15 to 20m a year is a hell of a lot of money.

He’s well trolling them now lol.

Mind you the fans and media have treated him appallingly, as Real Madrid and Barcelona fans often do.

I know we can be a fickle bunch but they take it to a whole new level!

Completely agree with your last paragraph and as a fan I am really disappointed he has done that.

He just needs to leave.
I know he’s trying to make a point to Zidane and Perez but at what cost?

Obviously he coining it in, and knows he won’t get the same contract anywhere else. He’s financially set up for life, his record at real in terms of trophies is phenomenal.
But turning up every day, and going through the motions like that must be soul destroying.

He can salvage his career by proving them wrong, but at the end of the day, the game he’s playing to get back at ZZ and Perez hurts him the most, but his career has a finite life span.
Such bad advice from his agent I think ( unless Jonathan Barnett is trying, and Gareth is the stubborn one)
Come home Gareth!

I don't read many autobiographies, but I would 100% buy his just to read the truth about his time in Madrid.

I have never held any bad feelings for him, and I'm glad he went on to win what he has done. It's just a shame it was at such a scummy club.
