The madness of having one of the best creative players in the world without a striker to finish the chances they create.

I don't actually remember Bale creating many chances at all in our last few games. Maybe he's just so confident he's going for them himself, maybe he's lost all confidence in Ade, maybe a bit of both. Whatever it is, he's hardly created anything for our other players.

Not a criticism by the way. It's just an observation that by playing in a more attacking role he's created a lot less chances, whilst obviously scoring a hell of a lot more goals.

1. dont apologize or add in technicalities for stating your opinion. i have a bunch of neg reps but i confuse to play nice only to satisfy the more radical members of this forum. negativity and skepticism is healthy, and some people refuse to recognize this.

2. you are right, bale barely creates chances. only for himself, never for others. it was the same selfish play that was hurting the team earlier, except now those shots are going in. and long may that continue. but we all know that this run won't last forever.

It's not so much adding technicalities as it is trying to clarify that I think his lack of creativity is directly related to his current confidence and success, so having a world class striker wouldn't necessarily benefit from Bale when he's playing like this.

One negative thing I will say about Bale though is that in the West Ham game he wasted several opportunities from free-kicks that were better positioned for a cross into the box. I hope he doesn't buy into the hype to the point where he starts shooting from his own half.

Bale has always been perfectly capable of creating chances for others. ffs, until this season he was a winger and one of his largest areas of impact was sending great crosses in, but now that we play only 1 striker and they are never in the box anyway that option is gone regardless of where he plays himself. And while he doesn't play a lot of tough passes, he is very capable of raking crossfield balls to switch the play, but you obviously aren't going to hit those playing as a CF or central AM like he is now. I probably wouldn't pass it to some of these guys either if I could convert pretty regularly in the positions he does.

You are the radical member of this forum btw...
