Utter bollocks. Winning the curling cup didn’t set us back doesnt make sense in the slightest. Also it’s very different now in that it would be very beneficial for this group of players at this time in their development together to win a trophy, any trophy which will give them that winning feeling. It’s no coincidence Mouriniho prioritises it in his first season or 2 at a club in the PL as if managed the right way it is a platform and springboard for success.
Also if you read my post properly you’ll see it’s not all ‘doom and gloom’ but what I have done is made some very astute and accurate points and considerations/concerns based on our situation.
the thing is with Moaninho he has never managed a team that doesn't have the funds. he managed Porto a team that's been up there in the Portuguese league that only has 2 title challengers every season. he came over when Chelsea where spending money by the bucket loads, Inter where 1 of the top teams in Italy, RM in Spain, back to Chelsea, and now Man U.
