with the way it was being said earlyer about looking gangly or something along those lines, 1 stone wouldnt be anywhere near like that.

there is no real point in messing around with Hudds stature and weight untill he really stops growing if he hasnt already, could just mess the kid up even more if we try and do whats good now when it might not be in afew years

I remember listening to a hudd interview about a year ago. In the interview he said that he had gone for x ray and they told him that his bones had stopped growing(joints fused).

"So, Tom, have you checked to see if you've finished growing yet?"

"Well, Gary, apart from being a fucking strange question to ask, it just so happens i slipped and fell and bashed my knee at training the other day and, during the x-ray to make sure nothing was broken the surgeon just happened to mention that my joints were very well fused - admittedly i got a bit scared as i figured if my joints had fused i'd not be able to move at all, so i figured he just made it up to push his side of the thread..."

"You really said that to him, Tom?"

"No, but i will when i get home..."

Maybe, just maybe, he's simply not all that fit? (regardless of his size)

I don't believe generalisations are valid when applied to an unusual physique like Hudds , certainly not whilst it is still growing .

Anyone who was at the Blackburn game would have witnessed a player who was virtually stationary for the last 20 minutes.

He clearly looks short of the required levels of fitness for a 90 minute prem stint.

I would have thought that a player like the Hudd would have a unique fitness programme specifically designed for himself?

i agree mate. but my main problem with him is that he doesnt seem aggressive enough or play like he really wants to win, for a cm you have to be a commanding player and demand the ball off the other players just like CARRICK used to do.

Sorry, but a few friends of mine spotted Hudd in a Nando's with Lennon, and they was both hocking it back.............and they also had some chicken to

Hudd needs to actually impose himself more on the game, try not to be too relaxed when in a game.

I'm sorry, sir, your body is wrong. Thanks though.

:| Right. Tell that to Jan Molby.

It's the boy's body shape, mate. He's not fat! You can't tell him to suddenly "un-broaden" his shoulders. He has a wide frame due to his skeleton. Not due to the too many 'Andy Reids'.

[An 'Andy Reid' being a pie stuffed with another pie; deep-fried]

Reminds me of the Pie Pie, and the Pie Pie Pie.

Numbers don't come into it at all. Muscle and fat weigh more or less the same, but a pound of fat is big and fluffy, and a pound of mucle is small and firm, and takes up less space in the body.

For the record, I totally agree he could trim down a bit and it is very achievable, just not the way your suggesting he does it.

This whole thread has degenerated into a define the word fat debate. I can't believe I've actually spent the time to read 4 pages of it.

Some ludicrously stupid posts in here, from the ones who think "this is the end for Hudd", I mean really... So he hasn't been in the last few games, so he's been selected for ressies to keep up fitness and this signifies "The end?" I mean, I have started to call him Tom Hundredstone, but he is in NO way fat! This is his natural physique and it's mostly muscle. I'm into fitness and stuff and as the personal trainer above me has pointed out, it would be hard for him to change his body as this is his natural frame, broad and well built and he'd end up loosing muscle. But it's nothing a top fitness expert couldn't work with him on, it is achievable. I'd like nothing more than to see a new, more toned, more mobile Hud, with the same power get back into it and start hammering in goals from distance like we've seen in the past! Because, my god the man can hit a ball!
