Rite official site said before Bolton that he was injured, yet he's playing for Russia? And before Harry has said he's injured yet he plays internationals and/or goes back to Russia saying he's not in the team, but spurs still say he's injured?

WHATS GOING ON? :bang:

I wanna see him at least make the bench if he can't be given a first team start oppertunity

He might have had a slight problem that cleared up in time for the match? Also we have 3 strikers on fire and he wasn't included in the squad and told he could go to Russia?

i feel bad as a spurs fan that we are doing a rebrov on him. He seems like a really nice guy with a good attitude. I can only assume that either rednapp doesnt share this view, or he doesnt rate his ability - both of which make no sense to me. I think it was against the hammers where pav was on the bench and celebrating the winning goal like he was on the pitch. His pass to pick out lennon against birmingham to score the winner was a very decent one and there was a lot of pressure on him to get it right with the last chance of the game. These were his only minutes of premier leauge action this season, how sad. Not long till he's gone in january... or perhaps two of our strikers could get injured and rednapp would be forced to discover what hes missing out on.

Don't remember many people being too bothered about the free scoring Sunderland striker who is currently the 2nd highest scorer in the Prem when he was in this situation last year. Pav will get an opportunity and when he does I hope he grabs it with both hands but sadly football is a tough game.

lets remember this situation. I dont want pav to leave but i can fully understand why he may choose to.

However, let it be a lesson, lets hope that come the next transfer window there isnt the same group of people spouting that we need 4 top quality strikers. It has been shown time and time again, not just at spurs, that you simply cannot keep them happy.

I would much rather us bring through some of the youth talent into the fold.

You beat me to it. My sentiments exactly. I for one am not surprised that Bent is now scoring as I and some others knew he could, but as you said most on this forum couldnt give a damn about him then. I suppose Pav is in a similar situation.

At the end of the Day, why are you going to put Pav ahead of three stirkers who have already scored hat tricks this season.

I like Pav, but he may well be needed, and when he does he will have to take his chance. But I still feel that he will be off in January.

Out of curiosity, why?

This is a serious question. He may not be Ronaldo and he did not do a Ghaly or a Sol, so why the Hatred for Bent? In my opinion, just like Pav he was 4th choice striker who just wanted to play for the club.

I don't really think it was a case of him being hated Bullet, I think he is just a limited player who although a good goalscorer, did not contribute to other areas of the pitch. Bent is best suited to a style of play where he plays on the last man, ball is hit over the top into the channels and he runs onto it, where I think the majority (myself included) would ideally favour a better build up style of play.

I'm not speaking for everyone obviously just what I think, but I certainly do not wish Bent any harm, and am happy for him to smash them in for Sunderland as long as not against us, I think he will get a good reception when they come back to the Lane.

I agree with tht, I never undestood the vitriol for Bent. It was only during the transfer that he didn't endear himself to the fans.

Bent, no matter how limited he was, he always scored goals - he wasn't right for us or our manager but I wish him all the good luck in the future.

Pavlyuchenko our blonde hair blue eye boy who everyone wants to succeed but he has done absolutely fuck all to warrant his place in the team and and also the ridiculous fee we paid for him.

Poor old Pav. He is the victim of the "we need 4 top class strikers" mentality. I disagree like some others have posted. I think we need 3 top class strikers + a youngster who can get the odd game and be prepared for the future.

Okay I see. So it was not that he was not liked, its just that fans would prefer someone else as in their opinion he did not fit into the "Tottenham" way of playing. Fair enough. I for one am glad that he is playing 1st team and scoring and hopes he gets a good reception at the Lane.

This is something I have always been advocating for for some time. It would suit all involved and at the same time be an incentive for the youngsters to try and make the grade, and not drop between the cracks as most of those that we have seem to do. Good shout have a rep

It wasnt hatred, he was just never loved by the majority. He was never bought to be 1st choice and so we were never really bothered by him, he either had Keane, Defoe or Pav infront of him. Rightly so in my opinion.

He did do well for us and we didnt really need to proved wrong cuz we all knew he was a decent striker but we had/have "better" strikers. i use inverted commas because as you pointed out he has scored more at the moment, but i believe, if played as often as Bent will be at Sunderland, over the course of a season the strikers we have will score more goals than Bent.

The fee we paid for him is not Pavs fault and he shouldn't have to warrent anything regarding the transfer fee. He is paid well to do a job and i believe given the chance he will be a very good striker.

Pav played a long time without a decent pre-season under his belt and also without a decent break before the start of a season, until the last one. Its well known for players from abroad to adapt to the EPL takes time, he did ok in his 1st season for us, in not forgetting a poor side for 6 months. Harry then buys a favourite player of his, who he knows will score goals and fit back into an old club (good move) so he has another strike partner to "blend", "mold", "work", with. Again this takes time.

Then Keane comes back aswell, under the pretence of club hero, "he has to start", pushing Pav down the order again. Then comes this summer, we buy another 'arry favourite, Crouch (i like the purchases of both Crouch and Defoe by the way, i am no way slagging them, just making a point) he finally has a couple of weeks off, comes back to a good pre-season, and cant get in the team, for the reasons above.

In all of that i cannot see Pav getting a good look in a performing team! I think he should start, for a prolonged period of time, with Keafoe next to him! Keanes had that oppotunity but Pav hasnt!!!!

From 1999 season to the summer of 2004, Thierry Henry, Patrick Vieira and Robert Pires played continuously - full English season, Euro2000, full English season, confed cup, full english season, world cup, full English season, confed cup, full English season - unbeaten in the league - euro 2004

So the "he hasn't had any rest" argument is a pretty futile one. He is a professional athlete - period. He hasn't performed - period. He isn't as good as what we've got - period. Hopefully we can get £10million for him - idoubt it though.:)

Meh. I've been underwhelmed by Pavlyuchenko and I rather have kept Bent instead of him. If Pav's good enough he'll get his chance, but I think he's rightfully fourth in our striker pecking order. He's up against three great, experienced premiership players in Keane, Defoe and Crouch and it would be difficult for any player to get in the team ahead of them. I expect he'll leave at Christmas in order to play first team football and I wont be very dissapointed.
