I think many posters here are discounting the quality of our own self produced young players.
You mean youngsters who have played zero PL minutes or next to zero PL minutes ..... can't imagine why by and large many would discount themI think many posters here are discounting the quality of our own self produced young players.

but i think it is safe to say soldado has one foot out the door and ade,... well, is ade-like...I'm taking this as if we are not signing anyone we are also not selling anyone.

Yep, players like pritchard who were more highly rated than kane in the youth and has done fantastic for brentford.
Players like Alli that everyone who has seen him thinks he will be the next gerrard. I disagree, i think he will be the new hoddle.
Players like onomah who was playing for the u21's at the age of 15. Only 18 now but from the looks of preseason along with winks is being groomed for a place in the squad.
Players like carroll who was the captain of the england u21 side.
Milos, ccv both stand out performers at the u20 world cup. Milos coming home a winner.
Give them a chance they might suprise you. Other european clubs seem to manage to integrate young players into their squads. What makes us different.
all that may be true and each of them in their age bracket and youth football in general may be the second coming but sorry this doesn't mean by a long shot that they will be a success in the toughest league in the world .... try them for sure, not collectively but try them - but you simply cannot count on them at the expense of a squad place for experienced PL proven talent. Certainly not in the numbers mentioned and certainly not for a side supposedly interested in challenging for the top 4.

True but the OP states:
"What if there is no intention to sign anymore players ie that Poch etc are content we have the players, what would your team and squad be ?
Please no posts that say we will bring in more players.
This thread is about assuming we are happy to run with what we have."
Not sure why you have a problem with me staying on topic.
okay, then start ade and soldado up top and switch to 4-4-2
I think if we are serious about top 4 contention we need:Ok it seems that after the two games this week most are saying we are ok as we are except need one more striker.
I think many posters here are discounting the quality of our own self produced young players.
100% agree with this!I think if we are serious about top 4 contention we need:
1) a tricky, skillful, creative winger with some pace and goalscoring ability (cough Yarmolenko cough)
2) a defensively capable CM - Bender, McCarthy, etc...Veljkovic?
3) a backup striker who can play on the wing...Berahino
If we sign Yarmolenko, Bender, and Berahino for instance, we are real contenders for fourth, depending on how the other teams do.
I think if we end up with Werner, Berahino, and Dier playing DM all season we might as well just pencil in 5th-9th now...gonna be another season of hoping Kane can do it all and Hugo can save us at the back.
Guy who wrote that is a clown.
Terrible stuff.
You should definitely not read what he has to say in a reasoned and well argued statistical manner about our prospects this season.
Really.
I agree, except I also think we need more pace than Yarmolenko provides. If we are narrowing it down to 3, I would say:I think if we are serious about top 4 contention we need:
