Apparently he was the highest earning player in Barca B history and he still wanted more

What's inherently wrong with that? They failed to find a middle ground between their valuation and his own so he's being sold, as is his team's right and his for not signing on.

I don't think it's that deep.

Only problem is his attitude and the fact he's supposedly been asking Barca for €100k a week.

Uber talented but in danger of losing his way a bit so we'd have to be very very sure that he wouldn't become a problem going forward.

I don't know the details but I was told there is more to his situation than just money. Something about wanting to sign him up to a really long deal for not much more than he's currently on with a high release clause.

The word 'moriba' directly translates to 'suspicious' in Arabic. I'm suspicious as to whether this will actually happen, but if it does I'd be absolutely chuffed. Nice link to start the week.

We can afford it but in no way at all should we be offering it
I don't see the problem at all. Give him a 6 year deal and £100k a week, and that's £30m. Add the transfer fee to that, and we're around what he'd be worth on the market if his contract wasn't expiring. If we, by paying him £100k a week, have the chance to secure one of the biggest midfield prospects in the world, I see no reason why we shouldn't be all over that.

I swear almost every time a youth player wants to leave their parent club for greener pastures they get labeled as having an attitude problem and 'demanding too much'.

If we did end up paying him 100k pw I wouldn’t be best pleased, maybe it’s just the state of football at the moment where an 18 year old who’s played 14 times can demand that much money. Bonkers

What sort of player is he? Can only see central midfielder but is he defensive, creative or box to box

Is he really that amazing outside of FIFA and FM? Not being a cock just that's where I've mainly seen him raved about.

I don't disagree with you in principle, but there should always be a little room for exceptions. And I think Moriba is worthy of such an exception.

He made his first team debut last season and is asking for 100k a week. Not even the likes of Pedri or Riqui Puig earn anywhere near that much so I think it’s safe to say his demands are beyond excessive

I'd say that if it as because of Barcelona and their finances it could be anything. I'm not surprised if more players want out instead of signing new contracts. I expect Barcelona to try to sign new contracts with lower/the same wages their on, and expect the players to do it and be grateful to get to play there.

He's all action box-to-box type. Basically think Tanguy with fantastic work rate and an engine. He creates opportunities by beating players with his dribbling then picking a pass out, rather than pass first - but he's exceptional at it. I have no doubt within one game we'd all be drooling over him.

May have a difficult grasp on value if he's looking at teammates and seeing what they are on. Messi was on 10 times that. Now clearly that is not reasonable but he is young and naïve with it. An exciting prospect and with a decent offer i'm sure he could be tempted - just will depend on where he sees opportunity (us) or income (City/Chelsea) as a driving factor. If i was advising him i would go back to Barca and agree a smaller salary with a relatively low buy out as given their issues he could well get time there, establish his reputation and move at a low-ish fee to one of Europe's big teams with the ability to demand a big contract.

Maybe he is just asking for that because he wants to leave and knows Barcelona cant afford it at the moment.
