TBH we can do better than 5th

The fact that lennon was very poor and will have games that he is much better i actually got high expectations for this season

Very impressed today. I think there should also be a mention for Corluka. He played us out of trouble several times. He is always so calm, and even under pressure usually passes intelligently. Liverpool were snapping at our heels today, but we managed to make space and punish them. That says a lot for the team now. :)

I was a bit surprised today, and we were the better team. When we have a good day, we can beat any team. At times we do play class football. It is so enjoyable to watch Spurs when they really play football! :)

Two french/cameroonians on the scoresheet :)

Funny, I was thinking the same thing - even before the win. About 20 minutes into the game it dawned on me that we have quality at nearly every position. Without naming names Id like to see maybe 2 changes, but we've got a good side.

Im worried about our play when Crouch is up top. We didnt pass the ball along the floor at all and were lumping the ball up the pitch.

The style we had when Defoe / Keane were on is the way forward. Crouch will be an important player away from home, but I hope that doesnt take anything away from our style.

I was never worried about home form, even against (well, esp against) top 4 opposition. It's away form at the likes of Bolton and Stoke etc that worry me!

I think it's encouraging how hungry we looked today though, along with the rare triffic start too

Well happy overall. Lovely stuff.

Palacios was immense, and the reason Liverpool looked so bad was pretty much down to what we did. So - without getting carried away (like someone said, let's see how we get on on a rainy night in Stoke) I'd say that's the best start we could have hoped for. COYS!!

very pleasing today, esecially with the pool bigging themselves up as potential champions. Well not on that evidence.

Unfortunately, only sore point for me was Keane again. Had his chances to get some confidence today, and fluffed three in 5 minutes.

Great team performance today and nice to see us score with a shot from outside the box and a header from a set piece. Thought Bassong today was a Ledley Mk2, he's a big strong lad like Ledley so with the two of them in the middle I can't see too many CFs winning a strength battle against them. Much as I am delighted with the performance and the win my main observation was that we tended to sit off Liverpool a bit too much at times, especially towards the end and therefore put ourselves under more pressure than we needed to.

I was very surprised and impressed with the team, we really dominated this match and made Liverpool look really bad. If it weren't for Gomes rush of blood and if Keane could have finished better it could have been at least 3-0.

I hope that Defoe and Pav become our no1 strikeforce though, when Crouch came on we completely lost our ability to pass.

I must say I have immense satisfaction tonight about this victory, I would have taken 1 point before the game started. We really need a backup for the beast Palacios though. Maybe Harry will try and groom Livermore for this. Seems like he could have the attributes.

I was very happy with this, and Liverpool looked bad only because our defence was top class and Hudd/ Wilson dominated Lucas/ Mascherano.

We had fight and fight and finesse, passion and panache, style and solidarity, and any other broken alliterations you care to mention.

Let's hope we can do it midweek at night in the north. That will be a big test.

I really thought the lads gelled well. I wanted to say a special mention to Charlie, I thought he was fantastic ! Robbie should have put away at least one of his chances, ah well .. (Turner and Boatang looked great) onwards and upwards, now onto Hull. They did look good against Chavski . I would love to see Kyle given a run out against them and Charlie in the centre ..:grin::grin:

was very impressed with King today. Having not trained he was still able to make torres look like a piss poor striker. I hope capello is not watching.. :(

sadly i think we can only reach top 4 only if king is fit most of the time

palacios is fantastic, if he keeps playing like this though he is going to end up at a big big club

if we dont reach the champions league in the next 2 years then im sure modric and palacios will be off, although saying that modric doesnt seem the type to keep up a fuss berbatov style and palacios was happy to stay at wigan
