what a day, I was early 20s, too. We were entertainers.

There was no Wenger, Sugar, Levy, Roman, Sheikh whoever. Sky Sports News.

Even though Spurs were terrible in the 90s, i thought thats when football peaked and was the most enjoyable. It has been going downhill since Roman took over Chelsea in early 00s.

In the 90s, even when a team had a terrible season, they could still dream they can achieve great things the following season. There were a number of teams that promoted from div 1 (now champ) and immediately finished top 4 but there is zero chance of that happening now.

Going back on topic though, sometimes i wish Gazza's free kick did not go in then maybe i wouldnt have supported Spurs 🤣🤣🤣

And of course a special mention to Danny Rose’s debut goal on this day too…

It was a great day and great cup run but before we get all misty eyed and fog up the rose tinted glasses, we finished 10th that year and were in a fairly precarious financial situation.

We haven't finished that low in almost 20 years. That said, I didn't think we'd be 32 years down the road and still awaiting our next FA Cup.

It's crazy we haven't won it since. We used to have this proud record in that competition. 8 was a record at the time. It also shows how the big spenders overtook us and dominated these cups since. We were never a league team always a cup team. Now we've become a league team over the cup but the league is top 4 at best. We need to shift to cups with a top 4 challenge. At least take the cups more seriously.

I was 17. Went to the final that year.

My mate‘s dad got seats. But didn’t know they were in the Forest section. 😂😂😂

Didn’t stop us from celebrating.

what a run. Hard to think that nearing age 49, it’s still the biggest trophy we have won since 1991.

My 16th birthday on the day of that game, broke the wooden seat at Wembley from all the jumping up and down on it :)

Went to all the cup games home and away that year, always remember the Blackpool one, officical Spurs travel got us there late and it was horizontal rain and blowing a gale in an uncovered stand, those were the days

Metalhead

But that's a debate for another thread.....

Amazing final - I was desperate to go but didn't have enough points or whatever it was on my membership card. The good old days when it was a proper good build up on TV - all the celebrities like Warren Mitchell being interviewed and it was an eventful final. As brilliant a coach as Cloughie was, I still remember El Tel going out and getting all the players together for extra time when Cloughie just left his assistants to it.

@Nice One Cyril Any reason you disliked my post? Is it my age? The fact I was at the game? Or, that we celebrated in the Forest section by no fault of our own? Or that I consider it to be the biggest trophy we have won since then? Or just that I posted anything?

Whatever it was... I am sorry to have offended you.

Actually, I'm not.

As I'm sure it was a mistake. :) Then again, if it was done on purpose... Oy vey.
