Is Walker good enough for 1st 11?

He's better than Hutton. Not better than Charlie yet. I think I'd be tempted to loan him back to Villa next season, but make sure he signs a next deal.

Get rid of Hutton, who just isn't up to it. Charlie and Walker the perfect combo for next season. Play Corluka away from home and against big boys where we need his positioning and calm defending, and play Walker against the smaller teams at home where we need his pace and crossing to give us extra width and attacking qualities.

Will be a good back-up for Lennon right winger next season.

If he'll ever make it as a top level RB it won't be till his mid 20s - he's got an awful lot to learn about defending (starting with the very basics).

I don't think so, not yet.

He's cost them a fair few goals this season. Whilst he's decent going forwards, he's a bit suspect coming backwards. I'm all up for attacking full backs, but they first need to be able to defend and be solid.

I reckon he'll get games, and should get better, but I think people are getting way ahead of themselves thinking he's better than Charlie, who is seriously underrated on here.

That bit made me wince for some reason. No man should ever attempt this.

Corluka is not under rated, he is slow, pure and simple, and you cannot have a full back who is slow. Technically he's a good, intelligent footballer.

In what way? I've seen no evidence of that whatsoever.

Hutton is a solid and proven EPL fullback. Walker is an exciting prospect whose pace gets him out of trouble just about enough to be considered as a defender.

Again, just because he was signed by your bum-chums Ramos and Damian this does not make it so. Hutton is positionally one of the worst defenders I have ever seen in a Spurs shirt. He has a bit of pace and a decent tackler, but they guy makes so many mistakes it is untrue - I have never seen a fullback taken to the cleaners like he was by Jarvis this year, even if he didn't get much help from his RW.

From the couple of Villa games I have caught this year, Walker is already at Hutton's level defensively, and has so much more potential going forward. Sell the Scot to Birmingham if they stay up.

I asked Harry about Walker. He said he has got quite a lot to learn on defending. Confirms view that he looks great going forward (he used to be a forward and was converted to a full back) but might lack defensive nouse/experience.
Might become number one back up possibly, with Hutton moving on.
Suits me fine as i think Charlie is top class.

maybe he should get the same lessons as rose who seems made to be a left back.

Hutton is not a solid EPL fullback. He's positionally terrible, and has very little understanding with Lennon. He's made numerous mistakes this season, and there is very little difference between him and Walker in terms of going forward. In fact I'd barter that Walker has assisted more goals than Hutton in his 13 games for Villa and scored 2 wonder goals. Walker is younger, and has more going for him in terms of athleticism, so we should cut our loses on Hutton and use the younger/more talented player as cover, what is unreasonable about that?

What has Hutton done in his career? I don't really see how you can justify him being called a solid top flight left back, unless you mean the Scottish top flight? I'd accept him being our back up, because he's done okay this year but when we have a talent like Walker why not pick up the money for Hutton before he's too old?

Yep.
He's young and still learning but I say a squad place next season.
What I mean by a squad place is somebody who is ready for first team action and not just to sit on the bench behind the 14 players who get used which I understand happens at some clubs.

There's no way Hutton is better than Walker - literally no way

Hutton has absolutely no football brain, and he will never be able to fix this

So for all his gung-ho charges forward, he'll always be a very limited defender for me

I really like Hutton, so would keep him there.

I think Hutton (just in case I didn't make it clear above) is a highly limited player

I don't think that for all Charlie's lack of pace, that Hutton is in Charlie's class. Charlie has a brain, Hutton doesn't

Walker, however, could be a class above Charlie again. Quality potential

We'll get to see how good Walker is in the Europa league games i hope.

Hopefully Rose and Walker will be our fullbacks in those games, while Corluka and BAE play in the Prem.

hutton will be sold i have no doubt. dont think harry rates him too much and rumours of big fall out after fa cup tie. either way he should be sold anyway. he is a woeful defender. headless chicken

i would give serious debate to selling corluka. i really liked him but this season on several occasions he has really been shown up.. he complained of burn out in early parts of season so maybe that came into it but that position can def be improved on

walker looks promising and should be played in all uefa matches at very least if we get there.

If I got to three years at a club and they hadn't played me and wanted to send me out on loan I'd tell them to stick it up their arse and refuse to go on loan and refuse to play for my team too, I'd want a permanent move out and I'd be very surprised if Walker didn't say the same.

Would you just stick him in the first team then?

If Lennon plays then Corluka is the obvious choice at RB.

If Lennon is out then we need a player with enough pace to overlap so Walker is an option although I also think that Kaboul could also do a good job there with his extra height and strength.

Hutton just needs to be sold asap.
