We are Tottenham, EVERY player has their price and Levy will definitely sell if that price is met.

I don't get people who wanted Bale to stay, he clearly didn't want to play for us. Fuck him.

Yeah, there's some merit to the argument "Even a Bale who didn't want to stay would be beneficial to the club" but I don't think you can progress by keeping players against their will and it would have caused untold problems in the dressing room. We got a good price, we signed some good players, we move on. Fuck that monkey, sheep shagging slag.

One thing that people keep forgetting when saying we should have kept Caulker is that he actually wanted to leave to guarantee himself a starting place, which we couldn't offer him.

Bingo, he wanted first team football and we could not promise him that so he left, no big loss as Vlad is the better of the two.

As far as I'm aware, no one has denied that.

Every football player in the world has his price.

Even Lionel Messi.

We're on course to equal at least the points total from last season with a squad that still (IMO) hasn't settled or played anywhere near it's best. Of course having Bale still would be amazing, but the players we've bought in have all had impacts during the season (whether small like one assist, or scoring penalties or scoring winners). Add a left back and a young keeper and we're all good for me with our youth to use as options when needed.

Do you think before posting? Two of them scored 50% of the goals in that match!
Sorry Einstein, very pleased for Chadli to get his first goal for us, as well as the Paulinho tap in but I stand by everything I say, £100m and still no evidence that any of them are going to be stars to light up the Lane or the Premiership. Evidence of ability ain't good enough for me considering the money invested as we already have a good squad.

none of players we bought can control a game like a modric or bale to an extent.. none of our new players have the ability to truly change a game or be a game changer if you will but they are players who are good and a couple very good but here is where problems also occur.

soldado needs a modric type in spurs midfield as none can see a pass , no one has the ability to truly dictate the tempo of a match and deliver a defence splitting pass. even when soldado came on agants newcastle when game was won there was a few guilt edge chances to pass soldado in on goal and no where near happening let alone seen, dembele been prime suspect. Until that player can be bought i can soldado struggling somewhat .

paulinho needs two players in midfield in and around him for him to truly prosper but i like him loads, so many goals in this lad if played and right personnel around him.

chadli has strength and power but he needs to step up a few notchs but doesnt help when he played as left winger which is not his position.. top players cost big money.. and these players are needed to bring best out of what we bought last summer otherwise its a hard luck story imvho. relying on adebayor is very dodgy as he is only one really who can truly up us a notch or two.. we have to add that type of player with real character , class and determination to truly chnage and dominate a game.

That will be Eriksen then. History tells us that most players don't do that well in the first season. To write all of them off as average when 95% of the people on here and a very large proportion of the footballing public were creaming over our signings is ludicrous! But hey this is spurs. We do ludicrous so well!?

Wonderful. :)
It is worth noting they have all scored. Some fucking pearlers, too. Given the situation as a whole, we could have done worse. Much worse.

Other than Bale the signings are generally upgrades on what we had last season.

I think you underestimate the power his agent has over him. Reportedly Bale does what Barnett says, and it was such a huge payday for Barnett/ Bale that he was always going to push hard for it.

I agree that if it had been a PL team it probably would not have happened, but if it had been Barca or PSG or whoever with a similar money deal, i reckon he would have gone regardless
I used to think that too until I read Ledley kings book and King spoke about hoe Barnett tried to talk him into retirement earlier than he wanted out of interest for his clients health not trying to get him a new contract. He also got Kings family together when he got bad news about his knee as he knew he would need them. I know we like to think of all agents as the bad guys as it is easier to accept than the player but maybe Barrett was acting in hid clients best interests which in this case would be getting him to his dream club, which his client believed would never have the opportunity to do again.

I'm talking about the relationshiop between Bale and Barnett, not King and Barnett

Been repeated many times but how did Modric do in his first season with us?

You expect these players to light up the league in their first season?...you know players don't sign 12 month contracts, they sign for 4/5 years - maybe you ought to show a little patience rather than writing them off as failures

Have a look what I wrote again....I've been following spurs 40 years pal so I know all about patience. I Haven't written anyone off, merely stated that thus far, I've not seen much to suggest that any of the 7 we bought are going to be among the best players in our starting 11. No-one will be happier to be proven wrong, trust me.

Which is what you're doing, writing them off as you're judging them too soon (y)

You may not have seen much but I suspect any rational/level headed thinking Spurs fan has seen plenty from our new signings to know that they have made and will continue to make a significant impact on our team. I think we can all be happy with most of the player and how they've settled given they had 0 Premier league experience.

"we can all be happy with most of the players and how they've settled." No idea where that generalisation comes from and on what evidence it's based so I think we'll have to respectfully agree to disagree.

You make an incorrect statement and then Still Try to make the same point. We have more points than with bale and with players still settling in. How is your point valid?
