McGeady is improving, slowly but surely.....and this season has shown us that he can actually 'cut it' in the CL. What surprised me was the assertion that he is potentially WC....a bit of an overreaction....I am so sure. However, Milan are 'looking' and that can only make him an interesting target for...other CL sides! COYS!

Am I assume by this that Celtic would want money and Robbie? I can't imagine that Ramos wants him that much

We could end up with Eto'o and Villa as a front pairing, step back from your keyboards and just think about that for a few minutes, then pinch yorselves.

standing back drooling and pinching away...

More from Leics_Spur...

Keane this season has started in matches because he iscaptain, if he wasn't captain I'm sure he would be warming the bench up a lot more. and from what he have seen the captain will change as king is f*cked, some that means not as much starts for Keano.. this ITK may be truee

I'll be so pissed off if this happens...

Imagine, we actually have the best strikeforce in the league and then they both leave. Unbelievable.

If Ramos gets the players in that he wants then it wouldn't suprise me If Keano is not part of his future plans.

You're mental if you think Celtic are behind Man U, Arsenal, and Liverpool in Ireland. In fact, a study showed that Celtic had the 5th biggest fan base in the world. They were behind Man U (who were first), Barcelona, Real Madrid and (I think) AC Milan.

You have to remember that Celtic are considered the official Catholic team. It's stupid that religion should be at all applied to football (being an atheist, it actually pisses me off), but that's how it seems to be. And their fan base has gotten even bigger since Nakamura signed.

Are you P lawell.I have never denyed there a big club, but there the same size as Rangers.
For a club ,so big,it seems odd they only got 28K for a quarter final game in the scottish cup.You can buy a ticket for any celtic game except an old firm clash.5TH biggest club in the world my ass.It the same for Rangers
Look at Flamengo and other south America teams,Benfica have 14 million fans worldwide.
Celtic played in empty stadiums in there usa tour the fans came to see the big euopean sides.
Theres a song they sing in Glasgow"Celtic are the biggest club in Ireland apart from Man utd"

Celtic reportedly have a fanbase of 9 million, spurs have have 4,5 million.
AS for Celtic fans in Japan, the Toyo csc has 300 members and a lot of them are ex-pats.Now Man utd are massive in the far east, never saw a single Celtic top when i was in Japan.
Just because you buy a shirt doesnt make you a fan and a copied one at that.

Money has nothing to do with it. Celtic have reached the last 16 of the Champions League for 2 seasons in a row. And they have managed it in spite of getting practically no television money because of the league they play in.

The South American teams do not have large worldwide fan bases because Europe is where fan interest is focused. The survey I'm referring to showed Celtic at 5th and Rangers at 20th. This was based on worldwide fan base.

Your flat out wrong when you say Celtic played in front of empty stadiums in America. They are only behind Man U in the US, and have a particularly large fan base in Boston.

I like how you use a fan song to back up your argument. In what way is it relevant that there's a fan song that says Man U are bigger than Celtic in Ireland? You don't seem to grasp the role religion plays in football and that is where much of Celtic's fan base comes from. They are pretty much the official team for Catholics.

I'm still not sure why Scottish cup money is relevant. That is purely down to there being no television money in the SPL. That is just the way it is, mate. It's probably on a par with the tv money Championship teams get. It has nothing to do with the size of Celtic's world wide fan base.

No unfortunely you are blinkered,in your world football view, unlike you i have lived in the America and accross europe.Football is seen as an immigrant sport in the usa.Live in Dallas and youd have a much different view.
All the South America, super teams Boca,River,Flaemnego etc has massive fan bases world wide.
You quoted, one survey which says there the 5 biggest club in the world there are loads of different surveys that say different. It depends what country you live in.
Surveys, will be used by different brands to make a point,we havent go 4.5 million fans worldwide,Celtic dont have 9 million.
I never mentioned Scottish cup money the Attendance v Aberdeen in the Quarter finals of the scottish cup was 28 thousand.
As for there huge fanbase in the Usa the Mls allstar game against Celtic the attendance was 18 thousand.
They loved Celtic so much they have invited the spammers this year.
Milan played to 35k in the gaint stadium ,celtic didnt even get anywhere near that.the capcity of the gaints stadium is 80k.Man utd however are massive, just about anywhere,i have been in the world.
Celtic may be the a choice of people who are irish decent that live in the usa.But just because buy a shirt doesnt make you a fan.The attendances proved that.
Go to Canada and Australia, you seen loads of Rangers tops because people of Scottish\Ulster decent live there, espically Canada.
As i said Benifca has bigger fanbase in portugual, let alone the world than any of the old firm.
Ps i seen seen Rangers v Celtic at least 20 times in the flesh,i know what big fanbases they have,im also married to an Ulster Scot,.
So i know both old firm team use this bollocks of reglion\Bigortry to promote there brands world wide.

Mate, you're an idiot. There's no point in even engaging you in a debate. You're flat out making shit up, not to mention coming across as a twat.

Stick you head in the sand,if you want, when you have a debate people disagree with you!

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Major_League_Soccer_All-Star_Game

Go on the mls website, info all there as well.

http://www.rediff.com/sports/2005/aug/01foot.htm

Still wouldnt sign mcgeady for 12 million,6 at a push!

Good job on making my point.

Go on that wikipedia page and click the reference to the attendance for the Celtic game. Here's what it says:

"COMMERCE CITY, Colo. -- Colombia's two contributions to the MLS All-Stars -- Juan Pablo Angel and Juan Toja -- scored goals six minutes apart late in the first half to lead Major League Soccer's best to a 2-0 victory against Celtic FC on Thursday night before a sellout crowd at Dick's Sporting Goods Park. "

So now who's burying their head in the sand?

And McGeady isn't worth 3 million, never mind 6 million.

There is plenty of friendly Old Firm banter on here but we draw the line at member abuse. Can you both stick to the thread topic and in future if you can't keep it friendly keep out of each others way, thanks.

And McGeady isn't worth 3 million, never mind 6 million.

13/07/2006 Celtic played against DC United attendance 15 thousand, Chelsea played there 31 thousand and the stadium hold 56 thousand. They play Real Madrid at another stadium ,attendance 66k
15/07/2007 Celtic against Chivas of Guadalajara 17 thousand same stadium
20/07/2006 Celtic played the New England revolution, attendance 16 thousand stadium capacity 68 thousand
20/07/2007 v MLS attendance 18k stadium hold 18k
22/7/2007 Celtic Chicago fire attendance 16 thousand stadium capacity 20 thousand.
So in those five games there were 218 thousand tickets available, they sold 66 thousand. Yes they have a massive following but even Fulham got a gate of 23 thousand.

Football will never take off in the USA becuase the yanks arent interested. No comerical breaks every 5 minutes, means no money from sponsors.let alone the concept of a draw is alien to your average American. The Mls is far behind The NHL,let alonethe NBA and NFL.
Its an immigrant sport that all i heard when i lived in Dallas.

Id have Mcgeady for 6 million, but then again,i have see him play in the flesh you havent.Swop him for Keano never!
