From Rabbi Crackers on FTL

Rabbi Crackers said:
from a man that spoke to Ramos in person.

"berbatov is going at the end of the season 100%"

club have 3 overseas bids in for him and spurs want to deal with these 3 only.

Sorry chaps i was clinging to the hope as much as any one but i know where i got this info from and it would now seem nailed on to me

At least if he goes it will be abroad.

Just a word of caution; Crackers does have genuine sources, but he's also a Grade A WUM.

I just want it over now. Berba you've been great, but a great player deserves to play on the biggest stage, and at 28 he's running out of time. cheers for everything, it's been top notch

If it's true, the only good part would be that we're not selling him to an EPL club.

Personally I hope he goes to Barca because they're my second team, and we can hopefully do a partial swap deal involving either Eto'o or Ronaldinho. :eek:mg:

yep 57 - I was wondering how to put a word of caution inwithout breaking ITK etiquette

from memory he had Bent leaving us for £10m

ITK etiquette disclaimer :) - I have queries about RC's info not his person - I know nowt about the guy

well, as said, if true, at least it'll be abroad.. Hopefully the board have learnt from selling Carrick to a rival, even if they did give us loadsa money..If Man Utd had Berba this season, the league would have been game over, every time i watch them i think 'he's exactly what they need to be an absolutely great team'... and i dont wanna see that team play us a min of 2 poss times a season!! haha... Anyway, that Fornaroli guy looks like a good idea, reminds me of Batistuta.. Another great no.9.

but gav it's highly unlikely we would have got the dosh we got for Carrick from an overseas club - only Man U seemed to be obssessed with getting him for what most people agreed was a very good price from our perspective

now if Man U wanted to give us £30m for Berbs and the top continental offer was £20m, I'd take the £30m no danger

to be honest I wish Man U had the league wrapped up now because I don't like them but I dislike CFC a lot lot more

I don't see Man U as our rivals - yes it may cost us a point or two Berbs going to them - but hey for £10m I'd take the risk - equally Berbs may cost our real rivals like Toon Villa Toffees etc a point or two - so that's no worry to me

as to CL possible rivals that's to me AFC & pool and the same applies

Wouldn't be surprised if he goes but this piece of ITK is one I'll just file with the rest until we see the official announcement.

Very happy if it is abroad. Exactly the right answer. As I've said before I'd sacrifice at least £5M to prevent him going to an EPL rival if there were competing bids.

Maybe we'll change his mind if we bring someone as cool as Modric in though....

Damn it, Nick. When I saw the thread title and that it was you who started it, I assumed it would be about Berba staying, maybe even signing a new contract. :-(

Still... a swap deal involving Eto'o would probably be better for the club, as he'll score more goals for us. :)

I know what you're saying mate, but I see anyone who's in the top 7 of The Prem as rivals, if we could've taken more points from Man Utd over the last 2 seasons ( not this one) we would've been in the top 4 at the end, that is fact..

And yeah, you're right that only English teams wanted Carrick (as far as we know anyway. I think there was the usual Newcastle rumour, lol!) and that indeed it was a very good price, but i'd still rather have kept him than taken the money.. And yes, i would take 5/10mill less for berbs to go overseas rather than the higher fee to Man Utd..Maybe we'll just have to agree that we see differently on that one eh?

Hi Gav :) mmm I'm confused, Man U took those points off us without Berbs - and as I say 'extra strength Man U with added Berbs power' are just as likely to be extra effective against our more realistic tivals -

we have never once finished within 6 points of Man U this decade (from memory) - so lge-wise I don't see them as rivals - as you say we'll simply disagree :)

re Carrick staying that's a long ole argument - and as there so many versions of why he left and how much we've missed him, I'll leave that one today :)

Well, guess Barca and Real would be two of those clubs. Barca, according to various sites, are looking for 1) a new head-coach 2) DoF want a big CF (not that Berba is known for his areal power but bigger and stronger than Eto'o, Messi, Bojan).
Maybe some swap deals could be made with either Barca or Real, both having players they may be willing to swap...or even get to swap a player they maybe not be so keen to swap (like Yaya Toure of Barca)...
