I'm trying to reason to myself that if he goes he goes, no player is irreplaceable! A good/unfortunate example of this is how ar5ena1 have done so on numerous occasions in the last decade (petit, overmars, viera, anelka, henry etc).

None of the 3 formal bids we've received (Milan, Athletico Madrid and Fiorentina) are more than half what we'd accept.

The Fiorentina bid included Frey.

:eek:mg: Milan, At. Madrid and Fiorentina? Do me a favour.

Berba hasn't been mentioned with any clubs in Italy in any of the press. Frey is a class keeper, but Berba to Fiorentina, I don't see it? As for At. Madrid, well they would have to include Aguero to make it even worth speaking to them and I doubt Berba would want to go there.

Frey would swing an offer for me, but I don't see Berbatov going to Fiorentina (although CL qualification looks likely).

If you were berbs, would you go? I love this guy (not like that) and would love for him to stay, but I couldnt blame him for going. He is pure class and does deserve to be playing CL footy.

Good luck to him, fingers crossed he will be playing wafa cup footy next season again though :)

If this is true, then Berba's going nowhere. Levy would not sell Berba for £15-17 million ("half of what we'd accept").

Also, of those three clubs, Milan are the only one I could see Berba considering leaving Spurs for. But given Milan allegedly couldn't meet Barca's asking price of £24 million for Ronaldinho, I can't see that they'll stump up £35 million for Berba.

So, Berba stays!

I'm not telling you what has been in the press.

Berbatov isn't anywhere near as well sought after as his agent would like everyone to believe. The big 5 (Madrid, Barca, Milan, Inter and Juve, although less the latter these days) consider him far too inconsistent to be worth the money.

He'll need a good season next season if he really wants to move up, rather than just sideways.

I know you aren't telling us what is in the press.

If all you are saying is true then I don't see him leaving.

That's the plan. We are serious about the c.£40m figure and anyone stupid enough to pay to see our cards is welcome to him.

Makes sense to me. Cheers Dan.

We get enormous suitcase full of money from foreign club or Berba has to see out his contract and grace our club for at least another season. Win-Win in my book.

His agent can go and rot (and stay in the poor-house for another year )

Sounds fairly positive to me Dan. Berbs seems an intelligent enough sort and if the interest/or lack there of is true, it would be strange for him to leave. While Atletico and Fiorentina are by no means bad teams, they are certainly not a leap into superstardom either. Fingers crossed with the likes of Modric coming in, Berba gets his act together, sacks his agent and concentrates on his footy next season.

I think that we can all be rest assured that this is going to a long painful process, no matter what the outcome, as we go back and forth. Kind of like a summer long colonoscopy.

I can't take this. If we sell him, I hope it happens soon. I'm so sick of getting yanked around by this shit.

Fiorentina are only really on a par with us I say, Atheletico may be a CL team next year but they are not a huge step up (not enough to satisfy his desire I'd suggest)

I would think he should be looking to go to the Milan teams, BArca/Real, or one of Chelsea/Man U even Liverpool i.e. teams who could win the CL next year.

I obviously hope he stays, but if he goes we need to get either maxium money for him or a suitably talented player in a part exchange.
