I sense a note of sarcasm. Have you seen how we play without Berbatov? Absolutely no cohesion going forward.

I do tend to think that people don't actually watch the games we're involved in. It proves very difficult to discuss with people if they're watching the blue seats.

THE GAME'S BEHIND YOU.

There. That's better. With all the little men in their shorts. See them? Good.

To continue that;

Torres vs Berbatov.

Goals created (assist or scored)
25 - 23 (And then, goals were Berbs sets it up, but doesn't directly assist, is not included)
And Torres has the likes of Gerrard and Xabi Alonso feeding him.
Berbatov has won 10 more fouls, 5 more tackles, and made exactly twice as many passes (533 - 1066!). Creating 13 more attacks.

This in a team that by far has been inferior to Liverpool.

Torres scores more goals for Liverpool than Berbatov does for Tottenham, but has a football player Berbatov is superior to the one-dimensional Fernando Torres.

And he's way cooler than that pansy.

we do need the money, we are well off, i will agree to that, but if we start letting players who want to leave run down there contracts more and then leaving for not alot, it will hit us at some point. When a player wants to leave and we get a good offer in, it would be stupid to reject it, not only for the amount we could end up losing, but when a player has his mind on another club he wont put in the performances we really need him to be doing

and it isnt really 1 midfielder we need, we need basicly a brand new midfield, and defender, and probably a keeper and keeper coach

Or on the other hand Berba could help propel us to the CL and then we could attract top players. Just a thought.

No offence Stoof but I got a warning for a very similar comment the other day. Mine was a joke but I get the feeling you deep down agree with me and therefore can't argue the point.

If Berbs goes, he is gay.

Lol great post, really made me chuckle for some reason!!

If he goes he would be really really depressing but the money could be used to strengthen other areasof the team i.e the entire midfield.

I still harbour some hope he will stay, im hanging off his reaction after winning the carling cup........plase please please..

When Berbatov F**** off, we should buy either, Santa Cruz, Crouch, Huntelaar, Kanoute or ????? to replace him.

I personally don't think our biggest outlay should go on a striking replacement, it should in order be (IMO)

1.Goal Keeper
2.Central Midfielders (competition and selection purposes)
3.Left winger / Left back
4. Experienced Central Defender
5. Replacement striker.

I see.

Well if I have to on a Sunday night, I will. Again.

Has Berbatov been as good as he was last season?

The answer to that question is a resounding: no. An even slower start and still yet to explode into life. An outstanding game 1 in 4, a good game and two sulky-strolly-throw-arms-up-in-airy games make up the other 3.

Yet we've scored more goals than, like, ever before?!

A crazy person who has a go at Darren Bent - [I'm assuming here, because I haven't seen a great deal of your posts [nor do I wish to], that you are one that has a go at him for the price Charlton commanded for him] - despite the fact he's still pushing double figures in an injury-ridden season behind two strikers who have scored 20+ goals each is, well, just crazy :)roflcopterz:). He's quite clearly shown flashes of being able to work with both of our strikers, something the 1D ShiftAndShoot couldn't boast. He's scored critical goals already and offers something of a mix of our top 2 strikers.

Making a snap judgment on the mere minutes that both Bent and Keane have played together - which are more often than not after Ramos has taken off Cerny for Tainio, just to make the game a bit more interesting [crazy subs innit] - is on the same lines of lunacy as the aforementioned Bent slating.

But yes. Make your snap judgments on strikers that obviously work and score goals together, without the Sulking Sultan, or whichever name you wish to masturbate for him.

Berbatov is a fantastic player, no doubt. One of the best - if not the - that I've seen at the Lane. But he is in no way Tottenham Hotspur Football Club with a fullstop at the end, new sentence, new paragraph. And the club will live on without him when he goes in the Summer.

To say he is everything to us when we're attacking is wrong, glancing over basic facts and just game-watching-time that you can't seriously have done be it from the armchair, the computer chair, the corporate box or from a blue/white plastic seat. That's all I've got.

It's late, and I need a cup of tea.

Left back / mid we have: Lee, BAE, Bale, Gilberto and Malbranque.

Oh dear. Exposed. Another Berba is a sulker post. Berbatov is a top four player in a team currently struggling to make mid table.

He has scored one less goal than last season already, including when we needed him most in the cup final.

He is our joint top scorer and our leading assister in all comps this year.

I am not having a go at Bent because I he is good at what he does but if you think he can make the team tick like Berbatov does you are out of your mind.

Also I think we all can see now that JD is no 1D player and his recent strike rate since getting regular starts proves that.

I would try decaffeinated tea if I were you.

Exposed? I say it how I see it mate. The bloke throws his arms up a lot. He wasn't doing that when we were finishing 5th on the last day of last season.

He has scored one less goal than last season already, including when we needed him most in the cup final.

He is our joint top scorer and our leading assister in all comps this year.

But has he performed as consistently? General performances. You can't say that he has? Because he simply hasn't! He's coasted a lot more games than he did last year. That's for sure.

I am not having a go at Bent because I he is good at what he does but if you think he can make the team tick like Berbatov does you are out of your mind.

No but the mind-set is different when you haven't got Berbatov there. Christ, we managed it with Mido and Keane after all. In fact, it might give us a more of a team. The temptation to put everything through Berbatov surely deters from the team game we would surely like to play. Yes, flashes of brilliance are, well, brilliant. And I've seen Berbatov do things with a football I didn't think possible, but [aside from your obvious IDon'tThinkKeaneShouldBeCalledALegendThereforeI'mGoingToPostThatHe'sShit agenda] I don't see how you can say it's all doom and gloom if Berbatov goes.

It will be sad, yes. But Tottenham Hotspur FC will live on - I think I've already come to terms with him leaving. Like knowing you're going to split up with your missus for a month or two. It's not a shock to you, but it is to her.

Not saying you're a woman of course. Or intertwined in a relationship with me. But yeah, I think I've made my peace with his leaving.

Or accepted the inevitable - whatever you wish to call it.

Also I think we all can see now that JD is no 1D player and his recent strike rate since getting regular starts proves that.

I would try decaffeinated tea if I were you.

What? No, it's just shown exactly that. He's a scorer of great goals. Not a great goalscorer. The business we did was good; and before you say he wasn't given fair crack of the whip, he was. And I expect someone more statty than I can be bothered with will show that.

God Stoof, your posts are too long and have to many glaring errors to repond too. Its late Sunday night and we all have a long week stretching ahead of us:

Lets just look at the stats:

Keane: 000000110000
JD: 0000101121120
Berb: 10100210010

I know I will be subjected to the usual "but keane does other things" b.s. that rapidly changes to "you cant argue with his goals" when you remind Keano lovers of how limited he is in his all round play.

Anyway surly it boils down to, who would you rather pay your money to watch?

And guess who comes out last again.

In all fairness this plan means we will be buying Buffon, Ferdy, Ribery & Gerard first.

I like this plan

to many glaring errors

How hypocritically gorgeous.

But aside from my ****yness, yep, Ramos, Jol, Hoddle. All wrong. All Ireland managers. Wrong.

That Keane, terribly terribly shit.

I disagree with what you say, but defend to the death your right to say it. But that doesn't mean I like you or your posting style.

Good night.

ello the spelling police are out. I am not denying that Keane is one of the best players Ireland has ever produced.

but then, is that much of a yard stick? Also you appear to use Jol as an example of a competent manager? weird.

Keane is not shit, he is just fatally flawed.

Ah you're lovely. We're really going to get on.

http://www.topspurs.com/thfc-managers-index.htm

Yeah shame we had Jol in charge when we had clearly the 5th best team in the league. He then moulded them in his image (chubby) and others went out and spent big.

Surprisingly enough we got left behind and thank god for Ramos who came and won us our first trophy for nine years.

now we dont run out of puff after 30 mins we beat the top teams and now our subs generally change games for the better.

But hey lets judge Ramos when he is managing his team.

 Where to begin.
name one?

In his first full season in charge we had a midfield of

Davids----Carrick-----Jenas-----Lennon

Our nearest rivals for those years were Bolton plus Anelka.

Since then Man City have spent big, pompey have strengthened, even Villa started building a half decent team and meanwhile we sent out a half fit team on the first day of season at Sunderland.

Jol should hhave been sacked for gross misconduct for that alone.

I love the way that when people cant justify a view point they just mud-sling.

All though it was a very amusing insult and I will be plagiarising it in future.
