is it me or do those computerised photos of the new lane look exactly like the santiago bernabau

If you're looking at the same pics as me then no. I'd say they look much like the Munich clubs' Allianz Arena.

True, but the atmosphere in there is amazing... I think people say they like that because it's similar to Old Trafford in that it's huge but the fans are virtually on the pitch rather than being miles away like in typical bowl stadia.

Incidentally I think that in general German football stadia are magnificent. Even the new ones such as the Allianz and AOL Arenas that look a bit like bowls outside are actually very compact and noisy on the inside.

It is one of the most atmospheric stadiums in europe, and has a huge capacity.

Id rather have something like that instead of the souless shitty modern designs. I want a stadium that generates lots of noise, not silence.

See my above post - Hamburg's AOL Arena is the noisiest ground I've ever been to and it wasn't even that close to being full when I went. Modern grounds can generate atmosphere if thought about properly. Sunderland's Stadium of Light is another good example of this.

I find it incredible that the German stadiums are absolutely fantastic but their teams are shit...

Our version of the Westfalen or AOL Arena would be fantastic.

I want a stadium that enhances noise as much as possible - I also think Bonjours and 57s concepts are very good regarding the look and feel of stadium :)

yeah i agree, i admire the stadia in germany. aslong as the club build a ground that is able to generate an amazing atmosphere then i dont mind what it looks like.

when i was watching the arse - everton game i just felt embarresed for them, the noise was pitiful. i pray we dont get a ground like that.

I thought Arsenal's Emptyrates was designed with minute details to allowing fans
to be heard and toher stuff like...

It is alleged the Home dressing room is state of the art, non slip floor, temp controlled
and laid out in an arc shape so AW can speak and see all of his players at once whereas,

The away dressing room doesn't have the non slip, and is designed in a line so managers
cannot see and speak to all the team, the baths and showers are lower in temperature also. Nothing illegal of course.

But then again it might be an urban myth.

You forgot about the small hole in Wengers office wall, behind his poster of Cygan, that looks directly into the away teams shower room.

I just hope they build the thing with tight, noisy atmospheric conditions at the forefront. I would hate a stadium with the first row of seats being a mile from the pitch (the Immigrants Toilet Bowl) and the tiers going up in a gentle slope (Wembley) where the atmosphere dissipates.

Well from latest reports looks like were getting pretty much a huge bowl which is way to similar to the immigrants...

i dont have a problem with a bowl, would be cool if they can somehow make the 4 sides distinct to keep the songs going (we're the park lane...etc). and as long as the seats go right up to the pitch. the scums stadium is actually pretty good, get a load of yiddos in their and the atmosphere will be great. viewing angles are normally better in bowl designs, which is why most modern stadiums are designed that way. as long as it has a giant cock on the roof i'll be happy!

Don't want a bowl type stadium ,they have no soul. There only good for national stadiums IMO. To make it even worse its said our plans look very similar to the Emirates (bloody hell)

Bowl or not, we need a new stadium. Just to compete with the top 4 in terms of capacity and the income from that. Hopefully they'll have thought for the future as well, in case we need to expand the stadium. 50,000 is a nice improvement from the 36,000 odd we currently have but it's still some way short of the goons new ground.

No thats not myth its completely true. Wenger had a hell of a lot of influence of the immigrants. Everything in there has been done to make it harder for the away team.

Also they dont have dugouts at the immigrants just normal seats and a normal barrier between fans and the team. The away dugout cant be a nice place to sit especially on derby day with goons sitting right behind you!!

I think its going to be tough job to get either Weng*r or Eboue to stand up there for any amount of time though to be honest!?! Eek

Absolutement! And on every other aspect of their anatomy!

But in all seriousness, instead of the boring passé toilet-bowl design, why not have something based on a medieval castle? Towering stands on all four sides, four whopping corner towers, a massive gatehouse/barbican as the main entrance. And we could still have it all lit up as in the Allanz. Only better.

A bit like upton park then!

How about we make it like a big cockerel nest? And when it rains we can cover it... with a cockerel?
