It’s not about managers only. A lot of owners won’t want to pay out the sort of money being talked about for someone who has zero regrets about being banned and could very well get banned again
We shall see, I'm not saying someone will take the punt now but I feel if they don't and he carries on his pre ban form, he will 100% be snapped up in the Summer.

It’s pretty clear to see that if Toney is indeed to leave, Brentford aren’t going to come out and slam him for being a tool with his verbal diarrhoea.

Toney yapping is free advertising, all the media outlets are happy to cover it for clicks and hits. Making him captain and starting the first game back keeps his confidence up and gets his form up, drives interest in the club, it’s a win-win. Brentford would get a good price for a player who clearly appears to want to leave.

The flip side of keeping him zipped is less money for someone who’s not getting as much game time, having received a public rebuke - so Brentford seem to be facilitating this angle.

Alternatively Toney is using all this attention for a bumper new deal with Brentford and it raises the profile of the club, which again is win-win and has clearly been PR managed.

Cant believe he's captain... what kind of message is that

Brentford need him for the rest of the season so it seems they've decided to ignore his outbursts and then ship him out in the Summer. Sadly for them, he's a disrespectful, gobby arsehole but they need to keep him onside for now.

Indeed, and if we hypothetically bought him, I guarantee the majority would be concentrating on his abilities and declaring that he just needs the right guidance/a second chance etc etc.

You’re probably right, I wonder who though? He’ll be turning 29 next season. In the past you could see Chelsea buying him but he’s probably too old for them now. I wonder if Arsenal would prefer to go for someone younger too? That leaves us, City, Liverpool, Man U? Maybe Villa?

Is he even that good?

Genuinely, I know he had a good season, and he’ll stand out playing for Brentford, but I mean consistently is he going to give you a good return each season?

Feels like one of those where Brentford will get big money for an aging player and who is clearly an absolute toolbox, he then goes and drops off big time and we all come away a season or two after feeling Brentford got the best of the deal.

This is actually really good management in my book. He has been a cock and absolutely disrespectful to the club, but Brentford gain nothing by castigating him now.

They'll sell him in the summer anyway. Might as well get the most out of him and then use the money to improve.

Makes sense to me anyway. Wouldn't want us to go anywhere near him though, he's got Chelsea written all over him.

He’s scored, free kick

edit: on the replay, he not only moves the ball, but he picks up pieces of the referee’s foam marking spray and moves that as well.

Clearly he’s a bit of a muppet but a lot of footballers are, he’s just confident/happy/foolishly enough to portray this more publicly than a lot of the others.
Part of me wants us to stay well clear BUT if Ange wanted him and thought he could work with him, I’d be very excited as to how good he could be for us.
Ange is one hell of a people person and he may be able to manage Toney in a certain way that would both benefit and maximize potential.
£70-£80m is steep for a 28 yr old however 4 years of guaranteed goal conversion could well see us as legitimate title challengers
