The players in the wall should have paid closer attention and shifted over proportionally.
The defender on the end of the wall actually tells the keeper that Toney is going to shoot around the edge of the wall. The keeper checks his angles and is happy with the positioning of the wall. The end defender then jumps inwards when the free kick is taken meaning that the shot gets past. If he’d jumped straight up the shot would’ve hit his legs and none of this would be analysed by all and sundry.

The moral of the story is “concentrate on your own fucking job”.

Linked to us again by BBC Sport Gossip page today - apparently between us and West Ham. Personally I think its absolute rubbish, he doesn't strike me as someone Ange would want

Hes probably the perfect player for Anges system. Great finisher, good link up and he isn't slow. It all boils down to attitude with Toney

Has a great pedigree, Brentford, Peterborough, Northampton, S****horpe, Wigan, Shrewsbury, Barnsley and initially a Newcastle reject.

Seems SC censorship has barred part of one clubs name.:)

Let’s be honest he’d be ideal. Perfect striker for this team but he also seems like a prize bell end so it’s difficult to give it the thumbs up

So I went to Brentford vs. Fulham on the weekend, don't ask me why.

There were a few conclusions I came away with:
1) These teams must have raised their game vs. us - they were both shit
2) It was very easy to get away from the ground - made a nice change
3) Most importantly - I wasn't impressed with Toney in any respect whatsoever. I expected a lot more

I'd steer clear of this guy - he's a perfectly good player, but not a great player. He's unlikely to particularly improve us, is a tool, would cost a fair wedge, and at 28 is only going to devalue.

It doesn't stack up for me

Off topic I know but it reminds me of Ian Botham's time at Scunny. To the tune of "The man who broke the bank at Monte Carlo", opposition supporters would chant "He's the man who put the **** in f*****g S****horpe"

Never been any complaints of it from within the game, only in fans’ heads.
It sounds like he is a dick but dicks come in all forms. His personality might not be a problem in the dressing room.

A guy I play football with is a Brentford season ticket holder and he thinks Toney is good but not special. Only one person's opinion of course but I just don't see him as a good enough player to justify such a large portion of our transfer budget.

Probably lacks stamina after missing out so much of the season. Wonder if he was the same last year? But that's not even the biggest worry about him, so many red flags.

This has West Ham written all over it, after being touted to all the big clubs who you would think will reject him. Only for West Ham to come in with an over the top bid.

I do like Toney and while I think he could do a good job for us I might actually like Mbeumo more. Unfashionable but quick, sweet left peg and can play central or wide right. Doubt they'd be willing to let both ho this summer though
