Jansen, I just didn’t get the signing of Llorente - firstly we could’ve saved the £14m in transfer fees and whatever wages we’re paying Llorente to put towards a proper alternative to Kane instead of getting most likely 2 seasons out of Llorente.
Secondly Llorente is past is best and really doesn’t suit our style of play, when we signed him I eventually thought “well maybe he’s a plan b, when we’re really struggling to score we’ll hit his head ala Man U with Fellaney” and hopefully we’d gain some extra points that way. However we really don’t seem to mix it up when he comes on, it just seems odd not to play to his strengths when needed.
Jansen with another season may have found his confidence to fulfill what they saw in him originally to sign him, by sending him on loan he’s all but done here so we’ll now have two strikers to shift in the next summer or two.
If we'd have kept Janssen do you think we'd have given him enough minutes on the pitch to get to the required level?
